Before the flood of Noah, there was a body of water that surrounded the earth that was above the atmosphere.
Gen. 1:7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
Because of this body of water, which most likely was solid ice since it was above the atmosphere, men and all life on earth enjoyed almost 7 to 10 times more protection from the sun's deadly radiation then men do today.
Science has proven that the major factor in our aging is because of radiation from the sun.
Pre-flood man did not suffer from the massive amounts of radiation post flood man did. As well as with the plant life and animals. So pre-flood man's food source would not have the massive amounts of radiation either.
So pre-flood man lived much, much longer then men today. And it was the same with animals as well. They to lived much, much longer because of the extra protection from the sun.
And something else that is interesting to think about is reptiles. As long as they are living, they continue to grow.
In today's world, an aligator lives to about 100 years old. And grows to be on the average, twenty feet. So imagine if it were to live 1000 years old. It could be around 200 feet.
So the reason why the dinosaurs grew to be the mammoth sizes they did was because of how long they lived and their ability to grow the entire time they were alive.

I believe that before the Flood, when people used to live for hundreds of years, it had to do with the fact that the things that cause premature aging today did not exist back then. There used to be a 7th layer of water or ice above the atmosphere that would have filtered out the harmful rays of the sun, and would have increased air pressure on the planet. This increased air pressure would have saturated their blood with oxygen and speeded healing. This would also have allowed vegation to grow enormous. You would need the dinosaurs just to mow the lawn! Better vegetation would also have resulted in better nutrition. All these factors would have allowed humans to live for hundreds of years.
During the Flood, this 7th layer of atmosphere would have come down (thus the 40 days of nonstop rain), and the flood waters destroyed all the lush vegetation. When they got off the Ark, they faced a desolated planet. The sun's damaging rays were now entering the atmosphere and wreaking havoc on our cells and DNA. Lifespans dropped to 400, then 300, then 200, and not many people today make it to 100. This has mostly to do with our poor eating habits and environmental contamination. The Hunza tribe of Afghanistan, when they were first discovered by Westerners, were found to be living to 160 years. After the Westerners introduced disease and western diet, this lifespan dropped dramatically.

Ever READ a story by ancient hebrew scribes they didn't EXAGGERATE ? The "imagination" is LIMITLESS, and you know some of those stories they told had to have men LIVING until they accomplished the goals they were supposedly given by "God." Take Noah for instance. Do you think anyone would have believed he built an Ark, collected two of everything in the world in the 40 to 50 years lifespan of men back then ? Much of this is a "vain" attempt to deceive people to believe that the hebrew people WERE up to the tasks being ACCOMPLISHED by other cultures in the area at the time. The "only" culture that to "date" never accomplished much with themselves WAS the hebrew descendants BUT their "holy words" make up for this lack in achievements............

If you will read the ancient texts from Sumeria for one, you will know that the first humans were more reptilian than mammal. They couldn't have children due to being hybrids. Like 2 mules. Enki, the chief scientist, manipulated their DNA once again and gave them more mammalian traits. Being reptilian means living so much longer than current humans. The human population called them gods because they appeared to be immortal compared to the short lived mammalian humans. Our base brain is called the reptilian brain. It is our will to live, ritual ( obsessive-compulsive disorders for some) the military the way it works, to name just a few.

They lived the way God told them too, which included following the recommended dietary laws. They didn't eat pork, nor seafood (shelled seafood, like shrimp, lobster, crab, etc.); the Bible says the pig is an unclean food for a reason (and no, that is not what the book of Acts says....Acts 10 and 11 talks about we are not to call the gentile unclean - you have to read the entire chapter of Acts, not take a verse out of context!).
Pigs release toxins from the bottom of their feet - the poisons that they have ingested -e.g, snakes, etc.), Pork causes cancer, blood disorders, diabetes, etc., Seafood, high blood pressure and high cholesterol).
We are not to eat unclean foods (no matter what the man-made religions out there are saying).

More faith and closer connection with God.
most of today's 100+ old people will claim that their religious background has helped. There have also been studies that those who do believe in God and strive to be better with him do live longer. Specifically the studies have mentioned that it causes less stress and a more positive frame of mind.

They were originally supposed to live forever, and the environment was perfect as was man. When sin entered in because of Adam and Eve,you'll notice the life spans began to shorten every generation until after the flood, the average age was 120.Then by the time of King David ,because now we had sunlight aging us and a poorer environment, bad hygene and poor food storage etc. ,the age was now 70.By the Middle Ages it was about 50. Now we are moving up the ladder again slowly but surely.

Not sure that they did. Perhaps the appearance of generation upon generation is there because women died in childbirth so often and nobody did a good job of tracking, cause well, they didn't have ipods?
But they made babies as fast as they could to help take care of things and move humanity along. No birth control basically. Lots of extended families. Nice story though.

Sometimes when the good lord blows the whistle to get everybody out of the gene pool, he’s not blowing hard enough. Either stay away from the fireworks entirely or hold them in your mouth this time.
You might try this though; toast a few marshmallows over the Bar-B-Q on your hook. My great uncle Chester used to do that after he returned from WWI and us kids sure looked forward to it. It’s amazing how far a steel plate in your skull and six or seven liters of warm beer can do to a man’s ability to remember the conductive properties of a metal hook ...
