i have been looking at some of the answers in the religion section and then going and looking at some of the profiles, especially of the people who seem to have a really strong stance for christianity just to see what other questions/answers they are putting on here. one guy, coolcat something or other, professes to be a jw but had all these questions about rap music. if you're a jw... you are not supposed to listen to such music, right? also.... why do the christians become so hateful against people who have other religious viewpoints.... aren't you supposed to be peaceful, like jesus?
stop being so hypocritical and pay attention to what you're leaving for answers and questions b/c people can and do look at them to see how truly devout you proclaim to be.

i check to see how 'devout' they are b/c i grew up as a jw.... i have since left the religion.... but i remember how they would put on a show of how wonderful and christian they were, but were going behind everyones back and doing things they were not supposed to... but it was okay if you were an elder's kid. i just check to see if anything has changed.... it hasn't. they still want to browbeat people into believing what they say when they are no better than anyone else.

As a Christian myself, I want to thank you for calling many of us on this very thing. When I go on here and hope to state my views, I don't want the very people I am trying to help understand my faith, to think of me as a hypocrite. We should walk the walk and talk the talk, if we plan to make a difference. lol

Please note that I am not a JW.

Are you talking about the same Jesus who formed a whip and ran the money changers out of the temple? The same Jesus who called the priests, scribes and pharisees snakes and vipers?

First off, I've truly never seen a hateful answer from a Christian on this board. I do know that an answer, because it doesn't go along with the politically correct world view, labeled as hateful.

Also, Christian are into other things. I have a passion for baseball, and my favorite music, beside Christian, is Jazz. I can even converse intelligently about pro-wrestling.

My point is, we Christians are human, just as JWs atheists and others. There are those days, when we just don't feel saved. I am sure that there are those days when you don't want to play nice, either.

As to the pseudo-tolerance that is foisted on everyone these days: Jesus had no tolerance for evil. He did not mince words when it came to sin. He dealt with it in strong, no uncertain terms. However, He showed the sinner that they could have a life free of their sins. To do that, He had to first show them that they were in sin, and in need of a Savior.

Hi Rebekah. I noticed that you said that you especially look at the profiles of people who "seem to have a really strong stance for christianity". Does this mean that you pay particular attention to those Christians who come across as "high and mighty"?

If you want to see some Christianity in action, try to pay attention to the loving, thoughtful, respectful people, and IGNORE the arogant people. Suddenly your view of Christianity will change....

Where once all you saw were the hypocrites (because you were seeking to find these people), you will see human beings who love God, and their fellow man, and who humbly seek for truth, while honestly struggling with issues of their own (and not hiding these issues).

While we need to be held accountable ( I won't go through the whole JW thing) and in fact i am building an accountability group for the men in my church. We must practice truth in love. One problem I see that leads to the problem you are talking about is that they feel once saved always saved therefore they need do nothing and/or they do not take their salvation seriously. ( Jesus is there Savior but not their Lord) By the way there is Christian Rap. You didn't happen to look over mine did you?

First of all a JW is not the same as a christian. But as a Christiain, I do believe that there are other things to do in life other then just sit around and talk about Christ and Christianity. I do watch movies, listen to music, watch tv shows...............................

this really looks more like a statement than a question.
but, so's I don't get violated for the 10th time today, ( even though my answers were actual ANSWERS)
they do this because they do not sem to be able to look into the mirror and see themselves for who they are.
Many people are self contradictory, it is not limited to the religious, the jws or any particular group.
It is a common human trait, that many people are hypocrites.

scare me people, I love the thumbs down, but the fake violations, are BS.

As JWs, we're encouraged to be careful with our entertainment, but it's all up to the individual's conscience. Our religion doesn't teach "do not listen to rap music", but it does teach us to be involved in wholesome entertainment.

And you're wrong....Jehovah disciplines EVERYONE, not just those who aren't elder's children. And trust me; if something is being "hidden" in the congregation, remember that Jehovah doesn't overlook anything. He knows what goes on and He'll fix it in His own due time; not according to our time table.

So you don't wish to be a JW anymore. I see. Is that why most of your questions are about JWs??? Why do you continue to show an interest in something you claim not to agree with?

Is that why you don't have anything listed under your profile and all you Q&A's are private?

What are you hiding????

EDIT: I noticed you just opened your Q&A's...hurts getting caught being hypocritical, huh???
