I don't know what one thing is most important to me outside of fulfilling my purpose here which is, I believe, to leave the world in a better state for my offspring than it was in for me when I got here. The most important thing I've learned though, is to own up to my situation and understand that I stand where I do today because of my own actions. Even when something negative happens to you that you cannot be blamed for, the responsibility of recovering from that is yours. Not believing in religious Deities is not, for me, a dark or hollow state of being. I think that in most cases, people's unwillingness to accept responsibility is what creates the need for religion in their lives. Not that it's negative to be religious, but my experiences actually pulled me in the opposite direction and made me a stronger and stronger human being as I got further away from any specific faith. Also, it may be helpful to clear something else up. Some people who are religious seem to have trouble getting over one fact. Not everybody feels compelled to worship something or someone. That idea even seems kind of primitive to me. Instead of worship, I believe in simple respect. As living beings we are all a part of creation and no one part is greater than any other, therefore we are all a part of divinity and if there is a God it is simply the sum total of all that is divine.

The definition of atheist is one who doesn't believe in god. Some atheists do believe in an afterlife. There is much evidence for an afterlife, it's called death. We observe that death follows immediately after life.

I'm highly considering joining the National Guard, so I'd say that that's up there on my list of things that are important to me. My family, my boyfriend, my friends, my job, grades and school, and living healthily.

I don't need a God or divine being to make me happy, to show me how to live or be happy. I'm just as well off without that in my life.

Same as anyone else except I know I have to live life at it's fullest as this is the one and only chance I have at it. One does not need a belief in a mystical magical invisible being to enjoy life and all it has to offer. Oh and we (atheists) don't need the threat of the ultimate punishment (Hell) to be decent moral people.

My kids are the most important thing in my life. I want them to be happy, healthy, secure in themselves, and able to cope with life when things don't go the way they would wish.

Aside from that, I just want to enjoy myself; live to an old age with my husband, enjoy spending time with whatever grand kids I'll have someday, do some gardening, laugh a lot.
