I say this so the Church would awaken from it's slumber. I suggest that all followers of Christ prepare to endure until the end. The scripture states that the " Dead in Christ would rise first then we who are alive and remain" but makes it clear that it takes place at the last trumphet. Prepare for post tribulation. If we go pre or mid that's a bonus.

Saw today's Brewster Rockit cartoon:

and thought of how often I've seen people like that here in R&S.

How does your faith (or lack of faith) help you deal with stress?

pay's million's of dollars to those victims who were abused as children by priests. Do you still have faith in the Catholic Church? I am Protestant Lutheran. However, do you feel safe arround your priests? Do you entrust your young children to them during Sunday school teaching or any other activities?

I wonder how Catholics react to all of this?

Are you telling me that God actually communicated with words? I'm guessing not.. therefore, can you explain to me exactly what you mean when you say God spoke to you? Hearing people say things like this my whole life, but having never experienced it myself, is one of the things that confuses me so much about the religion. Thanks.

Ive spent countless nights, pondering over the meaning of life and my purpose to be on this earth. And I have to say, Ive reached a very tranquil and meaningful solution.

So, why do christians always come up to me to preach about their believes? Do they believe that 10 minutes of chit chat will make me abandon what Ive learned from my spiritual enlightenments? Why cant they just leave me alone?

If Divine means, Being a god; being God: a divine person. And Nature means, the complex of emotional and intellectual attributes that determine a person's characteristic actions and reactions; "it is his nature to help others." what does DIVINE NATURE mean to u?

Does anyone know what it means when a streetliight goes out when you drive/walk under it? This happens to my boyfriend all the time (at least 1-2 times a week) and was just wondering if it was good luck/bad luck, etc.

I understand what the civil war was about. I understand that slavery needed to end. I also understand that for some of us in the south, our grandfathers carried that flag. Not because of slavery but to protect their land. George Washington owned slaves. Should his pictures and statues be removed from public places because of it? Why can't it be understood as part of history instead of a racist statement? My neighbors have one on their porch. I'm telling you there have never been sweeter people, and they are good christians, NOT racists.

I live in a very small community, however, yesterday a mass was held by a bishop because severy small communities had to be joined together due to a lack of Catholic priests. Wouldn't more men choose priest as an occupation if they could get married or have sexual intercourse?

Some Christians say "I don't believe in a young earth, I think evolution exists, etc."

OK, sure. Now that you've undermined the infalibility of your book, how can you be certain the parts about Jesus are true?

Isn't the book your only piece of evidence on the matter? If not, then what evidence supports your belief in Jesus' divinity, resurrection, etc?

How do you know the whole story wasn't just made up after the fact, if you do believe that other parts of the Bible are made up?

I am a cradle Catholic but the more I look into my own religion the more questions I have about the Jewish religion. If I called a Synagogue do you think they would be open to answering my questions or would they consider that offensive or a waste of time. I have no problems with the Jew's (really I admire them) I just don't want to offend anyone but I feel like I need my questions answered or I wont be able to make an informed decision regarding what I truly believe.

I know there's a bunch of you out there. Those of you that acknowledge that evolution is real, and the Genesis stuff is, at best, a "parable"...

How do you figure you can still be a Christian without the Garden of Eden? If there was no Adam and Eve, then there was therefore, no "Original Sin".

Without Original Sin, there is also no need for forgiveness, and no need for Jesus, or any of the other trappings of Abrahamic faith.

Thanks to Fokker for pointing this out. I find this to be a dazzling bit of logic for intelligent Christians to grapple with.

The United Methodist Church has lost about 25% of its membership since 1970. With an average membership age of over 60, as existing congregations continue to gray the rate of decline will get faster and faster. Because of this trend, I'm convinced the UMC will basically be no more in 25-45 years. What do you think? And is there any way to reverse this trend?

This is a debate that I dont know the answer to. All I can say is that I was born straight. And every straight person I know was born that way. If your sexuality is not your choice then why are you punishable in gods eyes for being gay?

I hear this all the time, Christians whining about how their rights are being taken away. What rights are you being denied? The right to marry? No, that's the gays, thanks to you people. The right to your symbol on your headstone? No, that's the Wiccans, thanks to you people.

What rights are you being denied?

That is why I need to end my life, and go on. I need to tell God what is going on, because it seems like the people who died before don't give a care, because they are all celebrating in heaven.

But if I end my life very soon, and I will do it. As a promise to the world. I will get to God, and tell him what is going on and hopefully he will come to collect the good people and let the evil people stay with the devil and blow up one day.

Enough is enough, I can't stand another day of this evil world.
