In the Acts of the Apostles, the Council of Jerusalem decided to lift all Torah restrictions from gentile Christians, with a few exceptions, such as the eating of meat sacrificed to idols. But they only did this to avoid the possibility of scandal. Unless it becomes general knowledge among your friends that Evisu is the name of a "god" (to the point that somone might actually suspect you are somehow "worshipping"), there is no scandal.

Well, that depends. Do you put a tree in your house every December (or celebrate Christmas, Halloween, New Years, Easter, etc. for that matter)?
Do you wear a cross?
Do you wear Nike?
Do you have a likeness of the Virgin Mary and Jesus in the house?
If those things don't bother you then the shoes shouldn't either.

Most of the clothing and accessories you wear are made by some completely Pagan company or named after the most unorthodox people and things. What difference does it make? What your wear and what you are are two totally different things! The things you wear do not make you more of less of a good person, period! Don't worry about wearing anything as long as you stay true to yourself and your beliefs!

I don't think there is anything wrong with wearing those trainers.
I can understand why you might feel slightly awkward about it but the truth of the matter is that the good lord (Christian) isn't an advocate of material possessions in the first place. :)
I think you should wear them namely because they aren't offensive and they are not something that is disrespectful to your faith.
Hope this helped. :)

Personally, I would return them. Are they going to hurt you spititually? No. But if it is in your conscience and you can't wear them without thinking about it, then listen to your conscience. Hmmm....that is a rare thing people do today. I have to ask though, wouldn't you want your money to go towards a company that isn't totally opposite of the Christian faith? It is your call.

Thats like asking if you could wear clothes made in a factory and sewn by someone who was vietnamese.
It doesnt matter if you dont believe in that god. You have your God and thats what counts. The fact that the company is religiously associated is great to begin with. Words are just words unless you give them meaning.

If the buddhist god means something to you, then don't wear them. If you believe that Evisu doesn't exist, then go ahead and wear them.
Unless....wearing these shoes might cause a weaker brother to stumble.

Doesn't it concern you that you believe in a religion that can actually make you feel guilty and wrong for wearing a pair of SHOES??? Should it really matter, in the cosmic scheme of things, what kind of shoes you're wearing? NO, IT SHOULDN'T. This is a perfect example of christianity gone haywire...

No, a Christian god would smite any heretic so disrespectful as to wear heathen sneakers.
Get a grip, they're shoes, not a symbol of another religion.
