Maybe. If you are talking about sin from a traditionally Christian or Islamic point-of-view, one of the commandments is to love the Lord your God with all your heart... which you can't do if you are an atheist. So sure. I'll go ahead and say it is. But who cares? So is lying. So is arrogance. So is murder. So is theft. So is cursing and judging others. So are a lot of other things that a lot of religious people do each and every day. I'm a religious person, myself, but if you're an atheist and a good person, then I don't hold you to any lower regard than anyone else. If there is a God, then your beliefs are between you and God. If there isn't, then you've got little to worry about aside of death! In the end, that pretty much puts us in the same boat. I'd rather work with you to keep the boat afloat than sit around debating whether or not you're a sinner or I, because if MY beliefs are right... then we're both sinners anyway.

No, I don't. Being an atheist doesn't stop you knowing what sin is, however, or you would be amoral. You may not subscribe to the idea of sin against something you believe doesn't exist, but one can still sin against one's fellow human being.
Being an atheist or not makes you no more or less of a sinner. You will, no doubt, encounter people who will tell you that not to believe in God is a sin. As a matter of fact, it is not their place to judge. If you have hurt them by being an atheist, then you have, indeed, sinned - against them. If they claim that you have not hurt them but God, then, in the first place, who are they to know? and in the second, is it therefore any of their business? It is surely a matter between you and whoever you are supposed to have sinned against! Let them pray for you, if they will, if it will make them feel better about it.
Edit: It is very sad that almost everyone has missed the point entirely about 'sin'. Sin is doing something which is counter-productive to whatever you believe in. If you happen to believe in an intelligent and benificient Creator, then it is doing something which is counter-productive to 'his' creation; if you choose not to believe in that, then you still have 'morals' and understand that some things are good (productive in a certain situation) or bad (harmful or counter-productive).
Most atheists (I dare say, all) have, at some time, had some kind of instruction in what is good and bad from their parents. In many cases that instruction was of a religious nature - in other words, it was phrased in religious terms. Things we learn in childhood are usually very difficult to rid ourselves of entirely. In this case, it is probably not a bad thing. A basic set of morals is pretty well universal and accepted by believers and non-believers alike. All of the Ten Commandments except the first make no mention of God; they deal with human relationships and most would be accepted, I think, by nearly all human societies as common sense.
When we are young we are taught rules and that to act in accordance with them is good, while to disobey, flout or break them is wrong (= sinful). That is not the real meaning of sin, however. It is a childish view which, unfortunately, many people still cling to.

If you are an atheist, you are not a sinner. You have every right to be an atheist, as does every single person in the world. Granted, they don't believe in God, but does that mean they go to hell for sure? I don't think that is for us to judge. But, that was a very judgemental statement, so...maybe I should just be quiet. But no, I don't believe that you are a sinner if you are an atheist. Because there are certain people who need to be an atheist for a certain time so they can be open to everyone later in their life.

Everyone is a sinner. Even atheist do things they know to be wrong. Not believing in god of or the bible doesn't mean your not a sinner. The bible w/o god is an excellent guide on how to live and treat others.

NOPE!!! Our First Parents did that for Us!!! So ....like from Birth We Are ALL Born Spiritually Dead & Physically Alive having the Old Sin Nature Indwelling Us!!! So with Sin IN Us, after we reach an "Age of Accountability", (an age at which we Know Good from Evil/Right from Wrong) We then Chose to Engage in Our Own Sin using Our "Free Will"!!! Now then, when U make a Decision to Reject God & His Plan for Ur Life in Jesus Christ, U have "Chosen" to Sin, which BTW, is the "Unpardonable Sin", the Only Sin that Christ Could Not Die For!!! John

No.
While it is true that some have literally slapped God's hand away, I honestly don't think this makes up for the bulk of those who follow atheism.
The study of Neurotheology - that is basically "God on the Brain" has shown that some people simply are not hard wired to experience the supernatural. That all encompassing feeling of compassion and belonging that some of us get.
Christians often say this is bogus. That God would "never" create a person incapable of experiencing him. That's just plain silly. All things are possible for God. Even reaching the unreachable...
Many Atheists jump on the neurotheology band wagon as a way of saying SEE! God doesn't exist. We can recreate him in the lab. (the experience of him that is.) But - we can also recreate the feeling of eating apple pie and we KNOW that exists.
Anyway. Sorry to go off on a tangent.
You should think of yourself as a gift. Now, don't let that go to your head. If you start running around saying "Max said I'm God's gift..." I'll find you and slap you silly. LOL!
I think God puts challenges in the paths of Christians. Our Atheist friends are such a challenge. He created you the same way he created us. We are brothers and sisters. So to treat you in any less fashion would be to insult God.
You don't believe. But that makes you no less loveable. Not to God and certainly not to me.

The Bible says : For ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God. " So, we are all sinners. Christians are sinners, saved by the Grace of God. To God, sin is sin. Whoever disobeys His teachings is a sinner. I might do something in a few minutes that is a sin, but I can confess it to God, and ask for forgiveness, which is granted, provided I am sincere about my confession. I'm just going to say that if you are living a life unpleasing to God, you are sinning. That's the Bible talking, not me.

No. To most religious people, it does make you a sinner. You have the right to believe as you choose, and not have other people shove their beliefs down your throat. Too many people just love to be judgemental and do that nowadays. Just try to avoid the subject, and tell people it's none of their business as to how you believe & it's your right as a U.S. citizen to the freedom of your own religious beliefs. If they are Christians, tell them they should love all of God's creation, and that God said, "Judge not, lest ye be judged also." That might shut them up. Tell those nosy people that religious questions tend to cause too much controversy, and that you would rather discuss topics of a less volatile nature.

Hell no! You aren't a sinner unless some religion tells you that you are... and there's plenty of those. Or if you break the 10 Commandments, which we all have done at one time or another. My slant on God is loving and forgiving.
Here's a question for you: Is Atheist a religion?
