Does anyone know what it means when a streetliight goes out when you drive/walk under it? This happens to my boyfriend all the time (at least 1-2 times a week) and was just wondering if it was good luck/bad luck, etc.

I was told some time ago that when a streetlight goes out when you walk under it that it's a spirit saying hi. I know this might sound a little childish but I have always believed this. And often when I say hi it flicks right back on.

I too am like your boyfriend. This happens all the time. Especially when I was younger street lights had a habit of turning off when I drove or walked under them.

Back when I lived in California my wife and I went to a park at night that had a fishing pier. I was telling her about street lamps going out when I pass by them and as we walked onto the pier the light right in front of us went out. After we passed it came back on. I watched as other couples passed by it and it did not do the same thing for them. When we left it again went out. Like clockwork after we stepped off the pier the light came back on.

What I have found is that it only occurs when I am thinking about it or paying attention to the street lights.

I wish I could tell you why. The things I have noticed is that it comes and goes. There are times when it happens all the time and times when I go months without it occurring. I have also found it to be happening less often as I have grow older.

Hopefully someone else has some info. Could it have something to do with electrical fields we naturally create that interfere with this particular type of light?

This is something that has happened to me more times than I can remember. Everyone has energy that flows within the body
as well as energy that flow in and out of the body and we are surrounded by an energy field known as an Aura. Every ones energy is different. Street lights also has energy flowing thru them and the components that cause it to turn on or off. These
components are not perfect and a energy fluctuation can cause them to react.
In my case ,I have learned, that this generally occurs when my Aura is really "bright". Many lights it only happened one time. Many times the same light but not always and many times every time. But I also keep in mind that electrical components heat up to much and shut off to cool down. But that would not explain the same light shutting off every time
off at the same distance away as I approach it and turning back on at the same distance away. :):):)

Street lights have photo sensors on them (light sensors). They must be too sensitive and detects lights from your car and turns off. But I know those sensors are facing upwards for the sun. This could likely happen during dusk, when its not very dark yet.

I have heard of this happening to people before. It is referred to as "electric human phenomena". Go to the web site below for more information.
