I think the only way a church should raise money is through free will offerings. People should give as they are led- not because they want a cookbook or a clean car.

We 've had success on Sunday Mornings having children bring buckets thru sanctuary collecting silver coins we call it Silver Sunday it's done once a month and usually generates over 200 dollars over the course of the year it's over 1200 and the kids feel involved. We do it for building fund.
For larger amounts we have great success serving after church.Most people go out to eat afterwards anyway,let them give that money to church.We have ladies make chicken Spahghetti, and sides. Orders are taken, and seved to go

I do not believe you should have fundraisers at church...remember God threw the moneychangers out of the temple.
Ask for a special offering...have the kids do something special for the church...
But, please don't sell things..that's wrong.

bake sales, car washes, potluck dinners, adult dinners(themed), dances, buy t-shirts and paint them. make face tattoos...hold a little fair for little kids...simple games...cake walks, go fishing, and charge for tickets. make a cat eye hike and charge for ppl in the church to go. (u get reflecters and put them along the trail and u have to find them to know where to go since it's at night) do a haunted trail or haunted house. where ppl are alowed to dress up but appropriately. have a lock in.

carwashathon... Get sponsors based on how many cars you wash, then offer a free day of carwashing. Our youth group did pretty well by doing this.
