I want something very simple. If i got this thing it would make me forever grateful. It wouldn't harm anyone, or make me forget anyone. I would be truly happy if i got this. I've prayed and prayed, but i still haven't got it. I'm a good person at heart, and i don't only pray when i want stuff-i pray for others, too. This is something i deeply need. So why won't god give it to me? I don't understand. I know god isn't there just to give you things, and i'm not selfish, i just don't understand. If god knows how to make you happy, why would you be refused of a simple ask? I've tried praying hard, i've cried and begged, made sacrifices and promises, and i remain unanswered. Please explain this to me-and please no harsh words or lectures, i'm very desperate.

I don't feel right using those sayings, but I can't seem to help wanting to say them - they are just such an integral part of everyday speech. Ideas?

like to destroy people's reputation? I knew of this lonely lady who liked to get co-workers, parishoners, and general people that she meets into trouble. She said she likes to find everything about everyone and then slander and gossip about them ruining their reputation. And then she would twist stories, and forget what she would say.
What would be her motivation to do this?
Is she mental, from a bad background or what?

I'm 14.Is it wrong that I don't believe in god anymore?
With all the **** that has been happening (war,my friends family dying,my grandfather dying,my uncle dying,my best friend getting cancer) I'm just starting to doubt in a higher power.
I still kind of believe there is something there, but I'm not wanting to please it or meet it anymore. If this higher power is bringing hell upon us right now,why would I want to hang out with it for eternity?
I dunno.I'm tired of putting my faith in something I don't know exists.whatever happens happens and I just don't want to spend my entire life being unhappy about something I dont know exists.my family used to be real involved in the church (my dad was a pastor) and they treated us like ****.
I don't know. These guys that were SUPPOSED to be proving to us that there is a god and that we should believe we're being really rude and saying stuff like "well you're going to get judged whether you like it or not"
that really doens't make me believe.
help?

Please don't give me answer like I could don' ask this question if I have no freewill. I think defination of freewill is a lot deeper than this.

It doesn't make sense. Usually when electricity strikes water, hydrogen and oxygen split. How could lightning striking water possibly create the first cell? Since I intend on being a doctor about ten years from now, I had learned alot about biology, enough to learn the organic elements, Carbon, Oxygen, Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Sulfur etc. I especially know that Carbon, Oxygen, and Hydrogen are the main components in organic sugars. Anyway, since electricity seperates Hydrogen and Oxygen, how could it have possibly bonded the two to form the first practical cell?

For I know the plans I have for you says God
Plans for good and not for evil
Plans to give you a future and a hope.
In those days when you pray, I will listen.
If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.
I will be found by you says the Lord.

I get the impression that at least 50% of Christians either wouldn’t take their children there at all or if they did, they wouldn’t allow them to have the impression that the “facts” being presented are truth beyond doubt. Could this type of fundamentalism be driving a wedge between Christians? Would some of them start listening to or at least not rejecting outright the words of atheists like Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens and Sam Harris?

If you say that you don't do something because it's illegal but then you are not willing to condemn the crime aren't you just as bad as the criminal that actually commits the crime? I can't stand open hypocrites and stupid crooks:)

As the Son of God who knows all things, Jesus clearly warns us that hell is a horrible reality. Hell was one reason why Jesus was willing to humble Himself in order to suffer for us on the cross. Jesus wants to save us from ourselves-fromour own rebellion against God and its tragic consequences.

Read Matthew chapter 8 verses 10-12 and chapter 25 v 31 and Luke 13 verses 24-28.

Why doesn't he be fair? Its like he made adam and eve, and they sinned, so for some reason he holds the entire mankind responsible for THEIR MISTAKES. I have tried to do best i can in this life. Any way if he made them didn't he know that they were going to sin, or God isn't all knowing and didn't know the future, jesus already said he did anyway.
