An oyster. I was 8 years old and my father wanted me to try one. I didn't want to, but I didn't want to disappoint my dad, so I did. When it was in my mouth, I thought I'd throw up; to me it tasted like snot (not that I knew what that tasted like) :) So, I kept it in my mouth and pretended to swallow it. I smiled and left the room. I got to my bedroom and spit it out in my garbage can.

Being only 8, I didn't realize I should have spit it in the toilet, because he found it later. He wasn't angry, just confused as to why I just didn't tell him I didn't like it. I was too embarassed to tell him about a little girl's wanting to please her dad. So, I just shrugged. But to this day, I have never eaten oyster again.
