Well polygamy was practiced widely in the bible and it is supposedly the word of God so if Christians are condemning it it's that hypocritical?...LOL

As I understand LDS, (I am Catholic) the prophet in Salt Lake City supposedly hears God's will. What was allowed once, may not be allowed now. Drinking Coka Cola is a good example. At one time LDS could not drink coke because of the caffeen. The polygamy, bigamy question is a good one. I beleive they undid polygamy officially because they wanted to be admitted into the United States and congress wouldn't let that happen if they remained polygamist. I believe it is an inconsistent man made religion. They promote family values, but that seems to be a facade.

Now let's not resort to name calling.
I have zero tollerence for anyone who would commit any crime. I am also very glad that I did not live 150 years ago when polygamy was practiced in my faith. I could not have lived with it! I'm a one man woman and I want a one woman man!!!!
But I don't judge those who do practice it. I just know that they are NOT part of the one and only Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Anyone who did commit this crime would be excommunicated.

It isn't hypocritical. If they feel that there is nothing wrong with poligamy, but do not pratice it because it is illegal, it is proof not of hypocracy, but rather of high moral ethics and high respect of a culture that does not accept it's religious pratices. If only more christian sects and denominations could be as open and considerate as the LDS's.

I have never committed bigamy but I don't condemn the societies that either allow or promote it. I am not under the delusion that I have become perfect enough that I should spend my time judging other people the way you have.

It doesn't make any sense to me either. Polygamy was allowed because God told Joseph Smith it was. Then it was not allowed by the head of the church, but God never said to stop. That is why the fundamentalist still practice polygamy. Makes sense to me, I mean if you are mormon. I would take Gods word above all others.
Utah wanted to become part of the union so they had to renounce polygamy.

If they're no longer committing it, then doesn't that mean they condemn it?
I'm sure you believe that murder is wrong, but you don't go around condemning it, do you? There's no special need to state the obvious.

Just because someone doesn't personally state a favorable or negative opinion about a law doesn't mean they aren't willing to abide by it. It's not hypocritical, and probably would only be if they had drawn up the law themselves.

There are two main branches of the Mormon church plus a few smaller ones. One or two of the "branches" DO/DOES still practice polygamy. For a list of all of the branches, view the graph at the bottom of this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Community_of_Christ

they believe in following the law of the land. the US does not allow polygamy. they don't condemn it, but i wouldn't say that's as bad as commiting the crime. a friend of mine said that polygamy was ended because of divine revelation. however, God could command it to happen again.
