like to destroy people's reputation? I knew of this lonely lady who liked to get co-workers, parishoners, and general people that she meets into trouble. She said she likes to find everything about everyone and then slander and gossip about them ruining their reputation. And then she would twist stories, and forget what she would say.
What would be her motivation to do this?
Is she mental, from a bad background or what?

She sounds just like my next door neighbor!! She's single, lonely, hasn't had a date in years, is perpetually pissed and is a serial back-stabber.

These people somehow feel elevated when they knock down the reputations of others (deluded...I know.)

They feel unloved, so they act unlovable.

They cling to their anger and frustration over life's disappointments, then take it out on others.

They are envious (other's have what they do not...).

When you encounter people like this, it's just best to stay out of their way - if you attempt being friendly with them, you will just become a target for malicious rumors.

She may be just a lonely woman that thinks that her life is so boring that she may need to spice it up.
Tell her to get a real life and live in the real world not through someone else.

Either she's mental or just thrives on trouble & confusion..either way, avoid her and ignore her.. I work with 2 people like that in my office & I stay away from them... I feel sorry for people like that though, they have no life & a miserable existence.

Misery loves company. Most people like this are very unhappy in their own lives. They thrive off the destruction they see in others lives and, when none is apparent, they create it. It is a very self-destructive trait...some learn their lessons, others feed off the misery they create.

Oooh, glad I have never met her, sounds like a miserable person. She obviously doesn't have enough going on in her own life. How sad.

It's how she learned to get attention at some point in her life. She hasn't learned an improved way to get attention.

They want attention. Gossipers are story tellers who want people wrapt in undivided attention.

She may not be a happy person, and jealous of others interesting lives.

She has low self-esteem. She can only feel good about herself when she is putting someone else down.
