I don't feel right using those sayings, but I can't seem to help wanting to say them - they are just such an integral part of everyday speech. Ideas?

well I am agnostic and I always say bless you. It is just polite, but I never put the word "god" in it. I never say anything about prayers. Maybe, best wishes? I do have the habit of saying "OH god." I dont mean anything by it, I just say it. It doesn't really matter what you say as long as you know what you believe. (or don't believe. lol)
Oh, and I say "bless you" when someone sneezes. Not just out of the blue. haha

I know what you mean. Since we were born we've heard these common sayings a billion times! I don't use 'bless you' or 'god love ya' and I don't tell anyone they are in my prayers, which don't exist. I do have things I say though that are just habits learned since I was small, and I just consider it small talk and nonsense sayings. Everyone does it, and we're no different.

Hmm... How about:
"You're in my thoughts, and my good wishes go with you!"
I see nothing wrong with "bless you", even from an agnostic. You can also try "be blessed."
When I was agnostic, I signed everything "love and light." I still use it sometimes, when writing to non-Christians.

Things like that, things that replace God with things you own, your thoughts, your feelings. I wouldn't worry about "bless you" much, though. Nowadays a blessing isn't necessarily spiritual and seems to be able to be given to everyone.

You don't have to believe in God to just say "bless you". Instead of prayers you could say that you are in my thoughts.

Why don't you feel right saying those things? If you feel like saying it then say it...don't let other people or things stop you..You are your own unique person so express it.

i hear what you're saying - "may god (who may or may not exist) bless you" doesn't have the same ring to it...
