The bible seems to indicate "eons" as long periods of time. I see no reason why it couldn't be that way - Big Bang. But I caution against it simply because science is constantly changing. In ten years the theory will probably look very different from what it does today.
The Catholic Church points to the theological idea that the soul of humans were created directly by Almighty God. But how this world came about is not clearly layed out in Genesis. Genesis focuses in on the ideas: God created the universe, including earth out of nothing. From no pre existing matter. So the problem in modern science comes to this: Modern science says that "matter can neither be created, nor destroyed". This leads many to believe, like Aristotle, that matter always existed. But we know that God is the only "always existed." So religion says to science: there was a time when no matter existed. The only being that existed was God. So any theory of "Big Bang" seems to rely on the idea of a pre-existing matter. So it boils down to: Where did the existing matter to make the Big Bang come from?

THE BIG BANG
The universe came into existence billions of years ago in a tremendous explosion called"The big bang." This is mentioned in the Quran in the following verses:
have not "those who disbelieve " known that heavens and earth were of one piece and We parted them and We made every living thing of water. Will they not then believe?
Sura 21 verse30
The discovery of "The Big Bang" and of "The aquatic origin of life" was made by the non Muslims. In the beginning all the matter and space (heavens) were at one point (one piece). Then every thing was separated in what the physicists describe as "The big bang." The evidence for "The big bang" is so overwhelming that it is now considered a fact and not a theory.
THE EXPANSION OF THE UNIVERSE
The Universe has been expanding since its creation. This great discovery was made by Hubble, an astronomer, in the early part of this century. It was also predicted by the Einstein's theory of "General Relativity." The expansion of the universe is clearly mentioned in the following Quranic verses:
The heavens we have built with power and We are expanding it.
Sura 51 verse 7

yes, depending on what kind of creator,
though id have to say it wouldnt have been an act from an omnipotent creator because they wouldnt need a big bang and could just create things at will,
also theres a good chance that there have been several big bangs, so why would a creator need to do that over and over again,
thats why i go with the whole light switch theory...

The creator, in human terms, is a personal god, and there is no such creature. The human race is actively investigating the universe with the goal of learning all about it. If someone says that the universe has a creator, then he has to prove it and prove that the universe could not exist without a creator. I believe that the human race needs to evolve much further for everyone to be able to contemplate a universe without a creator.

Not according to my Bible. There was no big bang, it says in Genesis that God spoke and all things were created. By His word all things were created in both heaven and earth. If there was a big bang, then He lit the match...
Words are powerful, that's why we have to watch what we say to others. A word can make a child confident or it can make them fearful. Words can bring comfort or they can start wars. If men could hold their tongues and weigh their thoughts before blurting them out of their mouths, we would live in a much better world...

Yes. The Big Bang theory/mechanism does not in any way
disprove God as the source of all creation.

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth....and he did it with a bang! Out of NOTHING came everything...one moment nothing next heaven and earth....how hard is it to believe that the big bang was God at the moment of creation?

Thats what the catholic church says... it agrees with the Big Bang theory. After all when you look at Aquinases proofs for the existence of god it says that everything must be traced back to a single moment of creation very similar to the big bang. and in response to the multiverse theory there can be one god over an infinite number of universes duh!

I have bad news for you... Big Bang theory has gotten a beating... It appears that they were no such a thing as matter coming from the void anymore... Quantum physics just begin to explain that our universe is a multiverse, and that our creations was a mere bump in the overall fabric of this multiverse. So if god exist for us, it means that another god must exist for every other bumps in this multiverses, which also mean, that 1 god is unlikely to exist.

No- If you believe in the Creator (God) than you should know it is not possible for him to lie and the big bang is not what his word says.God says he is the truth if you don't believe in all his word than you must not have faith in him.
