NO!

I went to this church that said if you didn't have the holy spirit that would be speaking in tongues. Since I was dating a girl that went there I didn't want to seem like a heathen so I spoke some jibberish to fit in. Now before you judge me let me just say I already know it was deceitful. But man, they were silly!

I think this verse will clear up the matter:

1Corinthians 12:30
All do not have gifts of healings, do they? All do not speak with tongues, do they? All do not interpret, do they?

Not everyone has the same gift...

What do you think? Am I just a heathen who lacks the holy spirit and I'm destined to go to Hell?

In French class we're each doing a little skit but I'm not sure if I translated my sentences right. Can you tell me what's wrong with them?

1. I have a lot of work to do. What are you doing here?
J'ai beaucoup du travaille. Qu'est-ce que vous faites la?

2. You idiots! What have you done? (f.)
Qu'est-ce que vous avez faites, vous betes?

3. No, I just said that! I don't like them!
Non, je vous deja dit! Je les detestes!

I know that I'm missing some some of those things that come over the words (what are they called again?) but my keyboard doesn't have them. Anyway, thanks in advance!

Humans are humans are they not? What is the logic behind some people being super smart while others are some what dumb?

Some are athletic some are not.
Some are dark skinned some are not.
Some are overly aggressive some are not.

I'm seeking a logical, reasonable answer without any "inflamatory" postings.

The question is: "What was the logic of the universe to have everyone so different that most people do not even think alike?"

Hmmm... I don't think so. I think such things are not helpful, but sinful?

Bible says nothing about smoking. Can't be helpful but doesn't appear to be sinful.

Drinking? You can have booze but not to the point your are mastered by it. Bible says not to be drunkard. If it were sinful Jesus would not have made wine for water, no? However, being drunk could easily lead to sin... I speak from experience on that one. ;-)

Ephesians 5:4
and there must be no filthiness and silly talk, or coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks.

The above is the only thing I can think about for the vulgar thing. However, it is a suggestion. I guess, what kind of witness would someone give if they "cursed like sailor" ?

I think Paul said it best:

1Corinthians 10:23
All things are lawful, but not all things are profitable . All things are lawful, but not all things edify.

Thoughts?

I had a birthday party for my son's 2nd BD on Saturday and want to know if I should write or call the invitees for coming, or should they thank me for inviting them? What is proper. Gifts were brought and I verbalized a thank you. One of the guest was a new friend I have met who brought her daughter. SHe has yet to call, email or make any communication since. More curious about her, should I take a hint that she doesn't want to be my friend because she didn't follow up? In addition, her daughter's BD (sameage) is this week and I have yet to be invited to that party. Weird situation.

I have to ask questions for a final project to someone of a different religous background. I was supposed to have an interview with a Rabbi but he had to cancel. Please answer these questions if you are jewish. This is for my rough draft. 1.How has religion shaped your life? 2.What are the challenges (if any) in practicing this religion?3.Have you ever lost faith and if you did, why? How did you get it back? 4.How do you view the scientific evidence that suggests the big bang theory? If you met someone in a romatic way, but they did not share your beliefs could you stil have a relationship with them? 5. How has the religion changes since you were a child or your parents were children? When you start to have thoughts or ideas that are consider "impure" how do you handle it?6. Do you pray everyday?7.If you do not pray do you feel guilty?Even if you are a devout person, have you ever questioned your religioin? If so, what was it.Any answers would be greatly appreciated and used as research

If we should be like God, then why do you (some of you) say that I belong to some wacked out religion when you find out that Mormons believe that some people will eventually become gods?

To me it seems like the next logical step. Yes it will take a long time, but first you become like God (who is perfect in every way), then, just as He is now ruler over this planet, you become like Him in that way too.

If the highest priority of KJV Christians is to be "saved" because of a belief, what priority is being a decent and moral human being?

Is that second priortiy, third?

Is service to humanity a third priority, a fourth?

Is making a number one goal for one self about one self a little bit selfish?

I read in a book called "The Mufti and the Fuhrer" (about the Arab SS Legions) that before the 1930s Muhammad was just called Muhammad, like Jesus or Moses, and people didn't have to be all careful every time they talked about him. In the 30s the Nazis aligned themselves with the Arabs in places like Iraq, and started teaching them how to do propaganda. According to the book this is when Arabs started adding all the titles and phrases before Muhammad's name, and made it illegal for anyone question his values or talk about him the wrong way. They got this directly from the Nazis, who had used thesame method to give Hitler his God-like status as the Fuhrer. Just like the Hitler Youth kids were indoctrinated to believe that Hitler was some sort of divine, unquestionable demigod, Arab kids in the 30s-40s were taught that Muhammad was completely infallible, and anyone who besmirched him in any way had to be put to death. Is this true, because it could help explain a few things.
