I read in a book called "The Mufti and the Fuhrer" (about the Arab SS Legions) that before the 1930s Muhammad was just called Muhammad, like Jesus or Moses, and people didn't have to be all careful every time they talked about him. In the 30s the Nazis aligned themselves with the Arabs in places like Iraq, and started teaching them how to do propaganda. According to the book this is when Arabs started adding all the titles and phrases before Muhammad's name, and made it illegal for anyone question his values or talk about him the wrong way. They got this directly from the Nazis, who had used thesame method to give Hitler his God-like status as the Fuhrer. Just like the Hitler Youth kids were indoctrinated to believe that Hitler was some sort of divine, unquestionable demigod, Arab kids in the 30s-40s were taught that Muhammad was completely infallible, and anyone who besmirched him in any way had to be put to death. Is this true, because it could help explain a few things.

Muhammad desperately needed peace cos he received none of it in his lifetime.

Born to a dead father, mother died soon after he was born. Foster mother died a few years later, followed by his grandfather. Then his sons all died in their infancies, tormented in pain by the spirit often threatening to commit suicide (recorded by hadiths) before he himself was finally poisoned to death by one of his own muslimahs.

NO PEACE. Muhammad had absolutely NO PEACE when he was alive.

Muslims today however want peace for him. But after what the muslims have done to civilisation today, I'd say, most infidels (non muslims) would rather say "PISS be upon him"

In fact if you read Sahih Muslim written after the Prophet's (pbuh) name is Peace Be Upon Him. These hadiths were compiled shortly after the Prophet (pbuh) death. So has no relation to anything during the 30's.

I hope this clears your misconceptions.

1-I think that due respect to great people ,especially Prophets, is a good trait.
2- Any prophet's name in Arabic should be followed by the phrase " peace be upon Him" .
If you do not agree with that , it is your own business , so Mind your business.

Actually in the Quran there is a verse that told Muslims the way they should speak and address Mohammed (PBUH)..and Mohammed himself ( By God's orders ) told the Muslims to say (PBUH) after they mention his name and speak of him..

Unfortunatly I don't recall the exact verse...and can't find the Hadith in English..

Nonsense, the evidence is in the authentic ahadith.

And usually, we do say peace be upon him even after the names of Jesus and Moses and other prophets (not always though, and not everyone).

I wouldnt' be surprised if you were right, but in any case, Muslims want to show respect when they talk about any of the prophets, so they say this after their names, Jesus and Moses too. I think it's nice whatever the origin, don't you think?
