I read a lot of questions in this forum, and it seems to be that most of the time, both of our people sound biased against one another for obvious reasons. But my question is this: Most Atheists seem to know the general jist of the Bible/Quaran/Talmud etc, but to me, it just seems that (super) religious folks don't grasp the concept of evolution or etc. Of course, this is probably my bias as an atheist, but if you're religious, please tell me what you know of Science, and if you're athiest, please tell me what you know of Religion. Thanks!

women were treated as second class citizen in the bible - a book approved by God! how can any women live with this? do they just ignore it even though their heart bleeds? women must be quiet in the church, must obey men, must cry out loudly during a rape or stone to death, how much more humiliation can a woman take? some said its the old time of the bible, but Bible is God's words, its infallible!

If you try to teach a dog arithmetic / math, it will never comprehend no matter what you do or how long you try; the dog will just simply never comprehend.

What if we just simply aren't built to comprehend the purpose of the Universe or how it was created? What if we are limited to learn about the Universe just as dogs are limited to learn Arithmetic?

All of these questions about the Universe only cause us further confusion, hence the analogy of a Dog learning Arithmetic.

Ever thought of that?

My boyfriend called me monday of last week and said we needed to go on a break. That we weren't over. This crushed me, because I was crazy about him....we were in love. So I gave him the week he asked for and called him yesterday, on his birthday and our 6 month anniversary. He didn't pick up. I tried a few other times later, after finding out from a friend that some girl was staying with his family. Eventually, a girls voice came up on the message instead of the normal nextel message. This really killed me, because I knew he was getting rid of me. It hurts so bad to be in love with someone and learn that for the past week he has been telling others you are broken up so he can be with some new scuzz. I think part of it was that we didn't have sex, but I'm not sure. I know I need to look to God to help heal this, because I know that somehow this is all part of my plan. If anyone has any verses of hope or healing, please let me know...I'm numb and scared, I feel so alone. thx

i am bisexual, annd in my expieriences it has been close to impossible to find a decent girl!..even as just a friend!..but guys on the other hand i can relate to more, and i have more meaningful conversations with them...they talk about females, i talk about females..we usually have simular interests..but i am not wanting a guy, i want a girl...but it seems girls are only interested in sex only and standing me up in cold weather, not caring about my feelings..and 1 things that really erks me is if they are bi, somehow thier bf wants to join or watch us having sex!....i have started going to a gay/lesbian bar/club here but i don't think those are the right kind of women i could have a meaningful relationship with...i have a bf myself and have a baby on the way, but he is very understanding and caring and is ok with the fact that i want a relationship with a female..could that be a reason i'm not getting anyone seriuos?..i tried personals but that doesn't help either...

If your entire family was involved in an accident and you had the choice to "sell your soul to the Devil" in exchange for them being able to live, would you? Would you rather have God in your life or, say, your kids, spouse, and parents? I mean this as a serious question. Preferably I would like to hear from believers, as non-believers can't give up a God they don't believe in.

Many of us encounter God and then ‘wander into a desert’ where we have no idea where to go from there. Unity with the Lord is an unknown dimension that does not correlate with familiar life experiences and we reach a mental wilderness with few believers able to take us on from there.

I don't know if agnosticism is a word, but I don't care right now. I'm agnostic. I am just interested in hearing how other people came to feel this way and believe (or not believe, rather) in this. When people ask me about religion, I just say that I don't know one way or the other and therefore I just don't worry about it. I just live my life. Anyone else know what I mean/feel this way about religion?
