The "second coming of Christ" is a figurative statement. The second coming can happen at any time within the consciousness of each soul and it does not refer to Jesus or any *physical* appearance. It is an expansion of your consciousness by uniting with the spirit that Jesus carried within him when he was here. Jesus fulfilled his mission, and his physical body is NOT returning!

We know that the Bible is true because of the prophecies that have already come true, (those who have never read it, have a look at Isaiah 53, written 700 years before Christ's birth). The ones about the end time have yet to be fulfilled. The prophecy about the creation of a State of Israel has finally happened, and the prophecies (in the 'minor' prophets such as Micah, and in Revelation) say that after this there will be a war when it looks as though Israel will be crushed. That's when Jesus will return, so to answer your question, we have a while to wait, but not too long. Within our lifetime certainly - next 10 or 20 years? Those of us who believe and are prepared to study the prophecies have a hope - things will get worse, but will be better for ever afterwards.
One of my favourite chapters in the Bible is the penultimate one, Revelation 21, when it describes Jesus eventually setting up a kingdom ON EARTH (as it is in Heaven!). John tells his vision: 'Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth.... I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem... God will be with them, He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death,or mourning, or crying, or pain, for the old thing order of things has passed away'. It goes on to describe the city, then in Chapter 22, the river flowing through it, and the trees of life, with leaves 'for the healing of the nations'. These are wonderful chapters, these prophesies, and the beautiful words always make me cry.

Who Knows the answer? I dont! But it does say in the bible that the second coming will occure 'Like a theif in the night' and ' That God only know when the end days will occure!'. So be on you guard and make sure that you do not get caught out by 'The theif in the night'. Be Ready!
(By the way if you a Christian, then you are an Apostle as 99.% of the Christian Church lives by the Apostle's Creed. So Jesus will return to his Apostles, as Christians Mean Christ Followers. Thats a reply to the chap who says not!)

The Bible says in Matthew 24:
"Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”
And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.
Daniel 12:4 also states:
“But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.”
Knowledge is prophecy. Everyone is into to what is going to happen at the end, so they are searching prophecy, whether it be spiritual or secular.
We are living in the closing hours of this world's history. Look around you and see if this is not true:
"But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be." Matthew 24:37-39.
It won't be long, R U ready?

IT IS , but we know not the hour.
Matthew 24:42
Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
We are to be watching unto prayer. The coming of Christ is conditional. God is not arbitrary and he wont come back until He has a people ready. As in Mark 4:26-29 Christ likens what people will make up the kingdom of Heaven using the harvest principle and His people are to go unto perfection.
Matthew 24:36
But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
The time is not for us to know, but we should know when our visitation is nigh and live wholly and holy unto God being righteous people. We need to be faithful to the end.

Just look at the responses you have received, there is no fear of the Lord in many who have answered you.
2 Peter 3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
Get yourself ready, things are speeding up, years ago I read that the eyes of the world would turn to the middle east, and just look at what's happening over there now.
Romans 13:12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
Don't be fooled, the end is near, Jesus Christ is returning very soon.

good luck finding intelligent answers...
we know that jesus said no one not even him knew the time. we were given signs, largely in revalation but also by prophets such as daniel as to when we can expect the end to be at hand. it is my belief that the doomsday cogs have been set in motion since jesus ascended to heaven. so either the signs will be too subtle to acquire noticable parallels, or it will hit us all at once. i think it is almost here. the most compelling argument i think is that the bible foretold that the generation who saw the rebirth of israel will also see the end times. the hardship with this is the bible is very vague on what it constitutes as a generation. the next would be peace in the mideast, which is already in hot pursuit. it is my belief, in accordance of how i interpret prophecy that it will take a nuetral authority of arab descent to finally achieve this. then muslim and jew alike will live in harmony in jerusalem. another prophecy is that of the rebuilding of the jewish temple. archeologists believed that the muslim mosque in jerusalem stood atop the ruins of the old temple. but now they have compelling evidence to believe the true site, or the inner curtain of the temple (holy of holies) stood some 300 feet from the edge of the muslim mosque. blueprints for the temple are already drawn.
yes i believe it is closer than we think.

Second comming of Christ has already happened in the form of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmed Qadiani, Promised Messiaha and Imam Mehdi (1835~1908).He declared that it is he who has to provide the spiritual leadership and those in doubt his claim can get any satifaction or those thinking his claim to be false should try to undo his mission and destroy his mission. Many Christian, Muslim and Hindu scholars from Euope, America and India, tried to finish his community but their own identity went in oblivision but his community of followers still continues to excell despite best efforts of Pakistan and Saudi Governments, scholars of Bangla Desh, India and Arab World and public in general. This community is now spread over in 186 countries in the world, slowly but steadily -with the moto"Love for All Hatred for None".Every opposing force is destined to perish, even if it is from Americans. But Ahmeddiyyat is not for political achievements;it is destined to win the hearts and set up a kingdom of God comprising of universal brotherhood. When this era ushers, it shall be ultimate supreme of creation of mankind. This shall be time of fulfilment of the prophecies of all prophets-Christ, Budha, Hazrat Muhammad etc.but this shall occur when the governments usurping peace and freedom of humans shall come to combat this movement. They shall be gone into oblivision as salt is dissolved in water and before that they shall have lost all their worldly powers and find refuge in a humble submission.

We do not know for sure. Even the disciples thought Jesus was coming back soon. Only God knows the day and the hour. He said when we see certain things happening we are to look up for our redemption draws near. Just be prepared by following Him and making Him Lord in your life and one day all us Christians will meet Him, when we least expect it.

The rapture may be, the catching away of the church when Jesus meets them in the air. The second return will be after the great tribulation which will be 7 years of severe judgment on the earth.
