What you say is true.
However Americans do get bad press with what is 'normal' in America. I would hate to live there if 1/3 of what's projected by the media is true.
They seem, both through the media and in person, as a bit too naive about anything important; yet unwilling to accept even the slightest criticism.
My own personal line was crossed when those 'ordinary' and 'normal' people re-elected that *****.
That he wasn't kicked out after the first election, I put down to America being America.
But come on, twice?

because are policy tends to try to change other country's into thinking the way America does, before we will do business with them, the rich that have been in power for hundreds of years in other countries like the way it is, no freedom of speech, no woman's rights, that's right no woman's rights, no freedom of the press, no right to bare arms. in other countries they think these ideas are crazy and really believe in there hearts would be destructive to there life stiles. allot of the men in allot of different countries think its great to be able to tell woman what to do,and to be served hand and foot by woman, or to be able to tell some one to keep a article out of the paper, or to only play on TV what the government says to play it goes on and on, when they see the American influence come to town they do not like it.

We are talking about countries here not individuals. So, we can't apply the same rule that 'well they don't like me, so I need to change".

Countries do what is good for their citizens not what other countries will think. They frame their policies to benefit their citizens and other countries effect a little in it. If that is not the case, no country can exist peacefully because no two countries will have the same agenda. That's the bottom line.

Not always true. I've heard a lot of foreigners call us smug and condescending based on tourism factors. That would have nothing to do with foreign policy.

Remember the whole 'freedom fries' fiasco? When Congress, yes Congress, the House of Representatives, renamed the 'french fries' in their canteen because Jacques Chirac thought it might be a wee bit early to bomb the bejesus out of Iraq.

People were ritually emptying bottles of French wine into rivers, slagging the French for having a clue about the realities of war's death and destruction, and talking about renaming New Orleans' French Quarter as the "Freedom Quarter". So much for historical awareness or respect.

U.S. media leads the masses to that kind of ignorant, arrogant outrage. Is it any wonder those masses expect other peoples do to the same to them?

I get it... I also get the fact that some people hate us just because we are the biggest kid on the block. I think the U.S. honestly tries to be the world's policeman and that is a tough job.
If we don't get involved, we are the #*&@%! U.S. and we should've done something!
If we do get involved and it turns out badly, we never live it down.
If we get involved and it turns out great, then the credit goes to the nations that asked us there.
I tell you, no matter what the U.S. does, somebody isn't gonna like it.
