This is from my homework, which I need MAJOR help with by the way. It gave me this as a reference:

"The Lord be with you. And with thy spirit. Lift up your hearts. We lift them up to the Lord"

Aside from orally transmitted folk songs, Gregorian Chant was the main music form preserved universally in Medieval Europe. It blended Greek, Roman, and Hebrew sources. It was simple in range for most voices, had free flowing rythm, and was sung in unison.

Your help is GREATLY apperciated, Thank You

There are many races living harmoniously in Singapore and everyone speaks English and thier mother tongue, when come to recruitment they advertise that Mandarin is prefered, could read as only "Chinese" need to apply.
Employers may specify language requirement in their job advertisement. Only if it is a requirement for the employee to be proficient in that particular language to be effective in the job applied for. If language is a genuine job requirement, the need for it should be stated clearly in the job advertisement.

I'm straight, but I'm wondering about Christians' view towards gayness. I understand that your religion forbids it, but if a gay person is not a Christian and has not wronged your religion, why can you not accept him or her? Was it not Jesus himself that said, love thy neighbor? And suppose that the theory that some people are born gay is correct, then the prejudice would be completely unfounded, would it not?

Whether you are a believer or not, there are questions out there that are so outrageous...are you bored, or what?
Me, I'm guilty as sin, but I don't answer the obvious time wasters.

overlook the most oppressed race? Native Americans! You should really look at this link and then give me a good response (also, don't forget the true story of Columbus' "discovery" of the Americas):

Recently I heard that in the biblical texts, Jesus is called the Heir to the kingdom of god.

How can this be?

If Jesus is the "Heir" That means that god must be prepared to either 1) abdicate his throne to Jesus or 2) die.

If god dies, that makes him fallible and thus negates all of the faith one puts into the deity as Infallible.

If god abdicates his throne, then what would happen to god? What would his role be in the holy trinity? Would Jesus then assume the role of god? If so, what would the point be of god as an entity?

I'm not being rude or disrespectful- I think it’s a legitimate question.

And please don't reply with "Go get saved." That doesn't answer my question.

Both he and the coach gave thanks, and glory, to God. That really warmed my heart. I was praying for the Colts to go to the Superbowl, since the Patriots had been there already several times. Wasn't it nice to hear people say thanks to God like that?

So many of the answers I have read suggest that God can't be called loving if he:
1) would allow people to go to Hell
2) would allow evil in this world

Suppose for a moment that God is real, that he did creat you and the earth. Do you owe him anything? Do you owe him the respect of following his commandments? Do you own him fellowship?

If you are unwilling to seek him or to follow his commands, then why should he give you a free pass? Why would he have mercy on you when so many others have followed him sincerely for thier whole lives?

Evil, sickness, etc is all the result of sin. Other than natural disaster, what evil in this world is not rooted in sin?

It really seems like Jesus is pretty demanding. I know much of the gospels is filled with stories of his compassion. But it seems most of the Bible is," Don't do this. Do this. Don't forget to do this. You better be doing this. Watch out and stay away from this." For those who want to paint it as true I must say that I think I picked this up from a very demanding parent who was the less religous one. I am not blaming that parent but I would really like to shake this view. I want to be spiritual all the time. Does this mean I need to pray a lot, always be thinking about how to serve others, study my bible a lot... etc... That just seems to wear me out. Where is the " rest for your soul" part.

I have been debating for a while whether or not to go completely vegetarian (possibly lacto-vegetarian), more for spiritual reasons than anything else. I have thought things over and realized that while I can give up pretty much everything else, I'm not sure about giving up eggs (for one thing, everything seems to contain eggs as an ingredient).

Spiritually speaking, why would one give up eggs? Eggs that are eaten are generally unfertilized, and wouldn't give rise to any life. It's just protein and fat, right?

Is a vegetarian diet necessary for spiritual upliftment?

I was kind of wondering. Some answers, although sensible, are still kind of "off-the-cuff" more than concrete. ...and I am just as guilty at this as anyone. Does the Holy Spirit move you? How do you know it's the Holy Spirit? Are you a holy person? What makes you think you are holy? Aren't holy people/wise people quiet?

I am a nice guy who does his job well and works hard everyday. I have a co-worker and she treats all the other people in my dept with fairness and respcct ... all but me. She is immature for her age and seems jaded towards life. She was cool to me when I started but now she is ignorant to me and is not respectful to me. I do not know what I did and she seems to keep it up. I tried 'killing with kindness', but it doesn't work. It's getting to the point where I do not like going to work in the morning. Please help. Thanks.

I'm praying for the Lord to direct me to a God Fearing Church in Illinois. Most of the churches I've come across are very cold, dogmatic, and superficial, or they are so liberal, that scriptures are twisted to fill the church and attract members.

OR

The Churches are very cliquish, in the sense that they lack diversity. So you must fit a certain ethnic group, dress style, or income bracket to be accepted. I'd prefer a non-denominational Church which stresses the teaching of God's Word, but I'm open to denominations if they follow ALL of God's Word(haven't found any yet).

No Word of Faith, or other prosperity led churches, that teach Christians that God is to be "used" for our purposes. I'm willing to pass mega and/or popular churches to find a Bible Based church. I don't care what the church looks like, or how many members it has....only that it's in agreement with scripture and the Lord.

I'm near the Northwest Suburbs, but open to areas that are far North or West. Thanks.
