Persia is the western civilization term for Iran. Realistically, Iran has been called Iran ever since the Achaemenids. Persia is actually, in iranian history books, a province in Iran. On maps it would be called Fars, but the correct pronounciation is Pars. Pars means Persis means Persia and does who are from pars are called Parsi meaning persian. So, Persia is actually a province of Iran. You can find the province by looking on a political map of modern-day Iran. You would find it in the South and it includes the cities of Yasuj, Shiraz, and the ruins of Persepolis and Pasargade.
Just don't make the mistake that most western history books make of Iran. Iran has always been Iran and will always be. But Persia is a province of Iran. The only reason western textbooks/history books call it Persia is because during the Achaemenid Empire, the Greeks called the Empire after their capital of Persepolis, thus the Achaemenid Empire was called Persis. And this name continued and had an alteration to Persia, but remember it is only a small portion of Iran.
P.S. In 1935, Reza Shah Pahlavi demanded to the international community for Iran to not be recognized as Persia, but as the name it always had, Iran, meaning "Land of the Aryans". And no, Persia is not Saudi Arabia, it is Iran.

Most foreigners referred to the state as Persia until March 21, 1935, when Reza Shah Pahlavi formally asked the international community to call the country Iran.

Successive states in Greater Iran prior to March, 1935 are collectively called the Persian Empire by Western historians
Iran, (Persian: ايران , Īrān), officially the Islamic Republic of Iran (Persian: جمهوری اسلامی ايران , transliteration: Jomhūrī-ye Eslāmī-ye Īrān), and formerly known as Persia in the West, is a large Western Asian country located in the Middle East, Central Asia and the Caucasus. Its area equals the size of the United Kingdom, France, Spain, and Germany combined. Iran borders Armenia, Azerbaijan (including its Nakhichevan exclave) and Turkmenistan to the north, Afghanistan and Pakistan to the east, and Iraq and Turkey to the west. In addition, it borders the Persian Gulf, across which lie Kuwait, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. Shi'a Islam is the official state religion and Persian the official language.[6]
Iran is one of the world's oldest continuous major civilizations. The history of Iran covers over four thousand of years, and throughout history, Iran has been of great geostrategic importance because of its central location in Eurasia. Iran is a founding member of the United Nations, NAM, OIC, OPEC, and ECO. Iran is significant in international politics on account of its large supply of petroleum and influence in the region. Iran is also one of the few states that comprise the Cradle of Humanity. The name Iran is a cognate of Aryan and literally means "Land of the Aryans."[7]

^^^^ Very rich and informative pages.
But I've never heard of Persia being the same as Saudi Arabia. Arab and Persian cultures are two distinct cultures, but which have also affected each other greatly.
