Or is that just something Catholic school boys do to P off their parents?

I mean worshipping Jesus is one thing. But the Devil? That's ten times more stupid....

I saw this Christian saying in an Atheist thread that no "real" Christian could ever turn to Atheism - that if they were an atheist, then they must not have been a proper Christian to begin with.

I think it's terribly unfair to insist that someone wasn't a "true" Christian or didn't "really" believe the Bible just because they turn away from it later. Just because you don't like what someone believes, how does that give you the right to pretend like you know everything about them?

Many Christians DO turn away from Christianity. I was one once myself and I was just as much a believer as anyone. Your after-the-fact rationalization is based on what you'd like the truth to be - not the truth itself.

How do you explain the growing number of well-known, well-educated scientists who have cited SCIENTIFIC evidence for their change of hear and acceptance of a creator/intelligent design. This example is probably old news to many of you but in the linked article Prof. Antony Flew, a british philospher and as this article points out "considered the world's most famous atheist" does a 180 and cites unfolding SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE for his change of heart.

I'm reading a column in Abby where the writer claims that her fiancé doesn't know that she was born a man.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ucda/20070107/lf_ucda/transsexualtalkingmarriageowesboyfriendthewholetruth

Are the surgeries really that good? I've always been extremely suspicious of this sort of story, but thought that this would be the place to get the real truth.

Do you think the writer is making up the story, the fiancé doesn't want to know, or the gender transformation was that flawless?

Isn't in great that we are all atheists with regards to:

Zeus, Poseidon, Mithra, Ra the sun God, Dyonisis etc.

We also agree that these are nonsense:
black cat superstitions, Alchemy, Astrology etc.

Wouldn't you agree that the only real difference between an Atheist and a Christian is that Atheists believe in ONE LESS GOD than Christians?

I can't think of anyone who hates the Amish, and why is that...? Because they mind their own damn business, that's why! They live their lives according to the tenets of their faith just fine without trying to control everybody else's lives! But Christians want to write the laws of the land to prohibit anything THEY personally don't like, for example gay marriage... Why not leave us alone, and we'll leave you alone and we'll all get along...?

Mentally, I feel like I'm neither male nor female, but at the same time I'm both. Sometimes I act like a guy, sometimes a little more feminine, but most of the time I act like neither/both. It's kind of hard to explain. I'm not a tomboy, since I'm not buff or anything and I don't do sports. I'm straight, though. xP But what would an androgyne be to you?

there are passages that suggest the bible is 1) not the most moral or ethical book: Luke 12:47-48 NLT 1 Timothy 6:1-2 NLT
2) a terrible science book Lev. 11:13, 19 (See also Deut. 14:11, 18) 3) not historically accurate 4) very shady on describing the afterlife.
