Mentally, I feel like I'm neither male nor female, but at the same time I'm both. Sometimes I act like a guy, sometimes a little more feminine, but most of the time I act like neither/both. It's kind of hard to explain. I'm not a tomboy, since I'm not buff or anything and I don't do sports. I'm straight, though. xP But what would an androgyne be to you?

I've felt this way ever since I remember, too.

Androgyne is a term derived from the Greek words andras (άνδρας) (meaning man) and gyne (γυνή) (meaning woman) that can refer to two concepts regarding the mixing of both male and female genders or having a lack of gender identification.

The first is the mixing of masculine and feminine characteristics, be it the example of the loud fashion statements of musicians like David Bowie, Annie Lennox, Grace Jones, Michael Jackson, Marilyn Manson, and Brian Molko or the balance of "anima" and "animus" in Jungian psychoanalytic theory. The second is in describing something that is neither masculine nor feminine, for example the Hijras of India who are often described as "neither man nor woman".

An androgyne is a person who does not fit cleanly into the typical masculine and feminine gender roles of their society. Many androgynes identify as being mentally "between" male and female, or as entirely genderless. The former may also use the term bigender or ambigender, the latter non-gendered or agender. They may experience mental swings between genders, sometimes referred to as being gender fluid.

You are a woman who doesn't need to conform to typical stereotypes. There is no book on how you should act or behave or even think. Live your life and don't label yourself.

Live you life like this and the people who choose to be around you will be those that are worth knowing.

You sound normal to me and someone who would be fun to be around! I think of androgyny as applying to physical appearance more than behavior. I wouldn't look for a label, just keep on being you, the best you there ever was!

sounds like you do know yourself. why do you want a label?

so you might be androgonous. ok. I knew some intersexed people. (both genitals.)
So are you physically andro or mentally andro.

Nothing wrong with being who you are as long as you're comfy with it. there are plenty of other people out there that are kewl with it.

Not to sound snotty, but since you're not leaning one way or the other, let your organs decide your sex.

I would say that you are worrying to much about the roles that are supposed to be "normal". Just be your self and make your self happy.
