People are the worlds biggest problem. Religion itself is not the problem... people have a deep seeded evil tho in many ways they want to do good. People are blind. There is a God and when people decide their is none watch out world... Remember one of the first words a toddler will use over and over again is "mine".

Religion is not the world's biggest problem, so I would say false.

In fact, religion isn't a problem at all for most people. I don't know about you, but in the last year I have not been attacked once by Neanderthal nuns, Islamic extremists, Hindu hatemongers, Zoroastrian zealots, Buddhist bullies, or Telaxian terrorists. I am sure anyone can learn to be at ease with the fact that there is spirituality in the world: for since it really does you quite little harm, and will be there whether you wish for it to be or not, why not relax, grab a baguette, and mutter nonchalantly, "C'est la vie!"

An afterthought: what if I were to note that purges and pogroms in the officially atheist communist nations of the 20th century took more life - in that one century alone - than all religious wars since prehistory put together?

The world's biggest problem is probably actually climate change. Human industry has probably contributed to climate change in a significant way and we have to deal with it urgently. But any attempt to tie religion in as a significant climate issue would be extremely tenuous at best, and disingenuously desperate over-reaching at worst.

Christianity is not a religion,it is simply a follower of Christ. Man makes religion for many reasons, again man wrote the dictionary too. Religion is a problem because of the many reasons for it,such as control over people, money ect. Relationship with the creator of the universe is where its at.

You need to read or do your more research.

FYI, Christianity is not a religion. If you do some studies, scholars agree that the name "Christian" was given to the followers of Christ. Second, Salvation is not in any religion. It is found only in one person and his name is Jesus Christ.

Religion is traditional, man-made concepts of who God is and not the truth. It is man's false beliefs and teachings regarding God and His relationship with mankind; appears as truth, but is the broad way which leads unto destruction.

Why do you have to use this forum to lash out at people who decide to believe in something? I don't think religion is the world's biggest problem. Actually, I believe it was one of the building blocks that allowed us, as humans, to found the first civilizations. This lead to the development of technology as civilizations pulled together resources to solve problems. Which is what enabled you to ask your prejudice question in the first place.

Your first premise, that Christianity is a religion, is sound. However, your second premise, that religion is the world's biggest problem is not necessarily true. Since the second premise is flawed, it is not possible to reach a conclusion that would be logical.

"Religion is the adherence to codified beliefs and rituals that (generally) involve a faith in a spiritual nature and a study of inherited ancestral traditions, knowledge and wisdom related to understanding human life. The term "religion" refers to both the personal practices related to faith as well as to the larger shared systems of belief."

I got this from wikipedia. Come man ... grow up.

I couldn't agree more, and history bears this out.

All religion is the result of man's fear of death and his inability to explain his existence.
Because of this, it's easy to dupe people into believing you have an inside track to all things spiritual, and can promise them absurd things like heaven and hell, angels and devils, if only they will swear a lifetime allegiance...and oh, by the way 15% of their money (the vatican has untold trillions).

The history of all religion has been bloody from it's onset right up until this moment. The sunnis are committing murders, tortures, and horrors in the name of religion, as we speak. The twin towers were hit in the name of religion.
Christianity has one of the bloodiest histories...the crusades, where they tortured and murdered all who weren't Christians. Hitler was a catholic who said he waged war "In God's name." Not to mention the KKK who all wore huge crosses on their sheets.

Need I go on? I rest my case.
