there has been a landmark court ruling where a child can legally have three parents. A lesbian couple wanted a child and used a surrogate father. They argued in court that all three people should be considered the child's legal parents and won. What do you think? Is this an enlightened move or does it open the door to very complex custody battles in the future if things don't work out? If its OK to have just one parent, why not three?

If you can, please leave religion out of this because it is a legal question and not really a religious one. If you feel it necessary to include religion, please don't just quote the bible, tell me what YOU think.

I am new to christianity, and am an ardent History lover. My question maybe multiples. Anyways with that said. Do you feel that their are things which God and Jesus wanted for us to learn that were hidden from history because of sexism, and the churches and religious persons view of women in their day.
For example Mary Magdalene question was she or was she not married to Jesus. Then their is the Apocryphal bible and all the books hiddens from history . I believe that Stephen and Barthlomew had books to which were never published. I've read the expected one and have no hard and fast conclusions other than it really does make me want to study women in the bible a lot more. I am asking everyone to try and place nice and respectfully in their replies.

Human beings have limited powers of comprehension. God, as he really is, is far beyond our imagination. Has God revealed only as much as our minds can conceive? Can he be known?

I saw what I thought was a man bent over and was like "nice" but it turns out to be a pretty woman. I was kind of embarrassed. Now I'm starting to notice butts on women. Is this normal?

Here is the situation:

I was speaking with my father about something irrelevant. While I was in the conversation, my mother butted in (rudely) wanting to know what I was talking about. I asked her nicely that I will tell her what I was speaking about after I had finished the conversation. She then interrupted again. I asked her to wait while I finish the conversation. She then interrupted a third time, when I told her to stop being a rude cow (Out of order I know but I asked three times to stop interrupting). She then blew up in my face. The question is this.

I was told by my parents when I was young to not intterupt someone when they are talking to someone else (common courtesy). She then does it anyway for a conversation which did NOT involve my mother in any way shape or form.

Do you think I am in the right compared with my mother? this is not the first time she has done this. She butts in when I am on the phone to a friend, asking who it is when it is not her business.

Christian (remember not one, ball all these defintions together)

1. Professing belief in Jesus as Christ or following the religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus.
2. Relating to or derived from Jesus or Jesus's teachings.
3. Manifesting the qualities or spirit of Jesus; Christlike.
4. Relating to or characteristic of Christianity or its adherents.
5. Showing a loving concern for others; humane.

n.

1. One who professes belief in Jesus as Christ or follows the religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus.
2. One who lives according to the teachings of Jesus.

Even the Dictionary knows what a Christian is, the Bible clearly teaches us what it menas to be a Christian, why then do people use the term so loosely. Claiming that this or that is a Christian when you clearly are aware of what a Christian is?

1. That translations of Hebrew/Arabic/Greek into English can convey same meaning and that translators are super accurate.
2. That best manuscripts are used. Oldest extant manuscripts already differ, so how choose between them?
3. Ancient copies were handwritten. Trust ancient scribes to not make mistakes of addition or ommission? As #2 explains, the differences prove mistakes.
4. That those people (such as Athanasius of Egypt and some Council of Nicea folk) who decided which writings would be included knew what they were doing. (All sorts of religious writings were floating around at the time, and a particular set weren't focused on until 367.)
5. That earlier interpretations, such as Arians or Gnostics, weren't just as good.
5. That somebody like Paul, who apparently never met Jesus, had a clue.
6. That people writing in 90 CE had any notion what Jesus thought since Jesus didn't write anything.

That's a lot of people (And if you're Protestant, a lot of Catholic ones.)

I am not trying to be biast here, but I just really want to know.
I just have a question to all you Christians out there.
First of all, what makes you think that just because you go to church and you read the bible, and you pray to God, and accept HIM as your personal savior, gives you the right to prosicute and judge other people?
I have been noticing that a lot of Christians, even my own Step Mother is like that. I am not saying that she isn't right, because everyone has faults, mine just happens to be the way I feel about same sex attraction.
Many Christians think that there is a "Cure" or that there is some kind of "medicine" for it. But really? Is there? Can you REALLY cure it?
I understand its bad to be homosexual, but do you have any decency or right, to judge others for how THEY feel? Then look at yourselves..and NOT feel guilty that you are not being Christian in your own right? Just a thought to a bitter irony...

I have a little bracelet with rainbow colored beads that my aunt got for me, and I love it. But I was about to go job hunting today while wearing it and my mother told me not to because the employer might get the 'wrong idea' about me.

Just out of curiosity, would rainbow jewelry or any sort of trigger that maybe made you wonder as to what a person's sexual orientation be have any influence on whether or not you hired the person? If so, why?
