The Spanish doesn't seem to have been written by a Spanish-speaking person, for example:
encontré
un paraguas
a las dos de la tarde
Did you write it?

I went to the river every day.

Alli, un dia encontre un hombre extranjero.
There I found a foreigner

Caminaba hasta el colegio por las mananas.
I walked to school every morning

Sometimes it rained so much that I had to use take a big umbrella.

I used to return home a two oclock in the afternoon

You will have to start by correcting the Spanish, is bad.

Iba al río todos los días. Every day I went to the river.

Allí encontré un hombre extranjero. There I found a foreigner.
(if you mean from another country) if you mean "extraño" then it would be "strange man".

Caminaba hasta el colegio por las mañanas. In the mornings I walked to the school.

Sometimes it would rain very hard and I had to take a big umbrella.

I would go back home at two o´clock in the afternoon.

As it was said before, there are some mistakes in the way the paragraph is written in Spanish. It should be something like:
Iba al río todos los días. Allí, un día encontré un hombre extranjero. Caminaba hasta el colegio por las mañanas. Algunas veces, llovía muchísimo, tanto que tenía que llevar un paraguas grande. Regresaba a mi casa a las dos de la tarde.

The translation to English should be something like:
I used to go to the school every day. There, one day, I met a foreign man. I used to walk to the school in the mornings. Sometimes, it rained that much that I had to take/bring a big umbrella. I used to return home at two pm.

I was at the river every day. There, one day I found a foreign man. (He/I) walked to school in the mornings. Sometimes, it was raining so much that (he/I) had to carry a big umbrella. (He/I) returned to my house at two in the afternoon.

And it should be "encontré" at the beginning. Also, you should clarify before "Caminaba" if you're talking about the foreign man or yourself. Don't forget all of your accents either; "Río," "encontré," "llovía," "muchísimo," "tenía."
