I get it, Americans get a big "kick out of eh" and we Canadians have a saying about Americans being rude. You go around and talk to 100 Canadians majority of them will NOT say eh. This may suprise you Americans. Any Comments?

Canadians might say "eh", but people from the United States like to say "huh?" and "what?" all the time.

I have met many Canadians, I lived there, I am Canadian and I have to say a lot of them said eh without even realizing it, we just think it's cool, we're not making fun of you, I've even said eh before and I didn't realize it until I thought about it later. I live in upstate NY, and we think the word y'all is funny, even thought it's a word, but we don't really say it, I don't know if people where I live say anything weird because we don't realize it.

Not all Americans are rude, just like all Canadians don't say "eh".

I never met a Canadian (I don't think) I heard they say eh from movies and South Park. Blame entertainment :)

well if you go around and talk to Americans, the majority of them will NOT be rude. So I guess people of both countries have problems with perceptions, or misperceptions, and should understand that despite the border, we are really not that different.

lol. It's just poking fun at "Canucks". Like calling me a Yank or Y'all Texans or other regional specific characteristic. I wouldn't take it too seriously.
On the other hand, if a person won't stop saying it, they are an idiot and I will kick them outta America and make them live with the "Canucks" ;)

I've been to Canada several times and most people said "eh" so what? US Southerners say "ya'll" in Ohio instead of saying "pardon me?" they say "please?" Every geographical area has their own unique dialect and slang, why would you be upset about it?

If that is your biggest complaint we can't be too bad. But I hope that was not too 'rude' of me to say so. Maybe you are overly sensitive.
