And by sense, I mean logical sense.

it makes perfect sense if you read the REST of the story... he lay dead in his tomb for 3 days and was resurrected.

Forget that part? Oh yeah, for you, Easter is all about Peter Cottontail

~~~ mullah ,,, It makes perfect sense if you take into context what the Role of a World Savior is to be. First get yourself out of your Subjective Christian Mindset and Open your mind to The Symbolism !! Check your Mythologies to get a good cross reference and you will see many common attributes. I suggest you start with Joseph Campbell's, "The Hero With a Thousand Faces" and branch out to his other fine works. If you want a very nice overview try "Myths to Live By", this will give you Perspective and Knowledge, thus making it "logical sense". Defeat your ignorance with Knowledge. FYI: 'Jesus' is classified as a "Demigod" making him a "Half-Man Half-God" and he was to sacrifice only his Human Element, therefore he is recognized in this context as "dead", materially. You will find nothing unique in this story that christians claim as their own theology. If you study you will find many predecessors with the same story as Jesus. Look to Zoroastrianism and their savior Saoshyant or to Egypt and Isis, Osiris and Horus.
Of course not. At least, to anyone with a maturity level higher than that of a 5-year-old.
Yeah, yeah, Jesus had a really bad day, took a three day nap and now gets to spend eternity as the top dog in Heaven. If you think about it, it really wasn't much of a sacrifice. I'm far more impressed by the countless individuals throughout history who sacrificed themselves for others and went to their graves in anonymity, expecting and receiving no reward.
Yes, he suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane for our sins, not on the cross. His crucifixiton would bring about his resurrection, which literally broke the bonds of death for us all.
Think of it this way: sin requires "pay" or justice. He suffered for each and every one of our sins so that we don't have to, IF we will take advantage of the atonement, repent, and come unto Christ. And since we aren't going to sin only once, repent and be done, we must constantly be repenting and doing what is right or the atonement is useless to us.
He was resurrected, his body and spirit united to never be separated again, ever. That is a gift from our Heavenly Father to all of us, no matter what religion or belief, we only had to come to earth to gain the blessing of resurrection. We will be re-united with our body, it will be of flesh and bone - no blood because that is what makes us "mortal". What we do in this life will determine where we are in the next - Celestial, Terrestrial or Telestial Kingdom...
Yes. Jesus died for our sins. He took our punishment for us by dying. If He didn't come back to life, then He was just another person and not our Saviour. The fact that He is risen proves that He wasn't just a person. He truly is the Son of God.
Jesus suffered and died for our sins, He was buried and the third day after His death, He arose and asended into heaven. With God anything is possible! To us it wouldn't make sense, because we are only human! There are many things about religion, that we cannot understand. That is why we should trust in God!
Jesus did not die,He was raised to the heavens,by God.He wasn’t tortured to pay for anyone’s sins,everyone pays for his own sins,and no one is prejudged.....
The real thing that make no sense is:If God was Christ’s father,why did not he saved his only son from being tortured by humans???????and If Christ is a God why did not he save him self and designed for himself a better fate?????and does a God has a fate?????there are of nonsense,just let your mind work,and face the truth without such false emotions about love,and he died and was tortured to pay for your sins and wash them....just THINK,and seek the real faith....
Yes. The Resurrection is the most thoroughly documented event in ancient history. It makes Christianity different than EVERY other form of spirituality in existence. And it makes perfect sense out of that apparent paradox.
He died for our sins then raised from the dead and is therefore not dead anymore. Logical? perhaps not but that's what happened.
You missed the step where He defeated death and Satan, rising from the dead, and living forevermore. (II Corinthians 5:15 Cf. II Timothy 1:10, Hebrews 2:14)
All that Jesus did for us doesn't make any sense at all. It is out of a deep abiding love for His creation that He died a gruesome death to pay our debt.
None of us can truly grasp how deep His love is for a bunch of ingrates who treat His wonderful gift and compassion for us as though it were meaningless. We desecrate His name daily with our wickedness. People use His name as a curse, they blaspheme Him by their words and actions, and He still holds out His arms to us, practically begging us to come to Him.
Shame on all of us.
Jesus physically died here on earth so he left his physical body but his soul was alive before he was born as a human on earth and after he left the human body. He has always been and will always be.
