I am not trying to be biast here, but I just really want to know.
I just have a question to all you Christians out there.
First of all, what makes you think that just because you go to church and you read the bible, and you pray to God, and accept HIM as your personal savior, gives you the right to prosicute and judge other people?
I have been noticing that a lot of Christians, even my own Step Mother is like that. I am not saying that she isn't right, because everyone has faults, mine just happens to be the way I feel about same sex attraction.
Many Christians think that there is a "Cure" or that there is some kind of "medicine" for it. But really? Is there? Can you REALLY cure it?
I understand its bad to be homosexual, but do you have any decency or right, to judge others for how THEY feel? Then look at yourselves..and NOT feel guilty that you are not being Christian in your own right? Just a thought to a bitter irony...

As a gay christian, I think people misinterpret the way they must spread the word of God, and do so to gain a personal sense of superiority rather than teach the true teaching of God.

(The bible argument and quotes from scripture are all find and dandy, but are generally used in a hateful manner to argue against gays and divide the people)

But when those who preach such hatred towards man, one day they will stand before God when he reviews their book of life and He will ask, "who are you to judge man in the eyes of God?"

Everyone has an opinion, and I respect that, even if it means we disagree.

And sometimes we have to learn to agree to disagree. That is a hard concept for many.

But I think overall, people will push for whatever they believe in. But is is a shame that rather than having compassion for those, some would place themselves on a pedestal and judge.

I am a sinner. So are you. But I will not judge you...I'll leave that one up to God!

"First of all, what makes you think that just because you go to church and you read the bible ... gives you the right to prosicute and judge other people?"

Have you READ the bible? That's whole point of the entire book: prosecuting and judging other people. Even Jesus is all about killing people who don't follow him. What makes you think that you can be Christian and NOT prosecute and judge people? Perhaps you're too weak to be Christian. Read the bible. See what your god commands you to do, not just the flowery happy parts that make you smile in Church. Either you believe the bible is a work of god, or you believe it's a happy clappy philosophy book that you can cherry-pick quotes out of: if the latter, then don't expect everyone else to cherry-pick the same happy clappy quotes.

Personally, it's obvious to me the book is a manmade collection of history and philosophies, so it's ridiculous to take it so seriously. You appear to have reason and some morality (how is homosexuality bad, by the way?). Use those instead of someone else's opinions for Christ's sake.

It is NOT bad to be homosexual. I am a lesbian and I've been this way my whole life. I know you probably think I'm lying, but let me tell you something. I was a little girl when Madonna made the "Vogue" music video and I remember as a wee little girl having a crush on Madonna. Boys never caught my attention. Shortly afterwards, No Doubt came across the scene and I developed a crush on Gwen Stefani. Again, boys were not of interest to me, and this lack of interest was not voluntary on my part. Then later on, there was Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson. By this time I was a mere ten years old. Again, I had crushes on these ladies. I always was attracted to women, especially blonde ones. There's nothing I can do about it. I didn't choose to be this way. Yeah some people may think I'm evil, but I think it's more evil to make someone feel bad about the way they are than it is merely to love someone of the same gender.

Christians should not hate homosexuals. It's the act that we hate, just as God does. There are non-practising homosexuals in my church. They're good people (one of them used to be my hairdresser). No Christian has the right to judge. Only God does. The only thing we are allowed to do is point out what the Bible says on matters such as homosexuality. Unfortunately many people who claim to be Christian take this way too far.

God does require that his congregation remains clean. We do not allow people who practise anything the Bible condemns to remain in the church, as that would bring a wicked influence and the congregation would lose God's Holy Spirit.

As a christian, I believe that NO one, has the right to judge. No matter what. That said, the function of a Christian is to spread the Good News. They can not help it, they are compelled to speak by a power greater than them--especially to those closes to them. Correction is needed in society. If you understand homosexuality is bad, then you too have made a judgement, right? Accept what she's offering, Jesus--he will do the correcting

Sexuality is formed in the womb. I believe there is no "cure" for homosexuality, and why should there be? I am so tired of bible beaters who speak out against everyone or everything not exactly like them. Used to be before the civil rights movement that blacks were not able to attend white churches...Christianity is a joke as it is today. Jesus would be turned out of the majority of our large christian churches today. We are all creations, equal on this planet, different/diverse as the flowers and other plants. We are a beautiful combination of life on this earth. Believe it and leave the "christians" to themselves.

Here's the deal. If you really study the bible, and I have, as I'm an ordained minister, and you study it in it's original language, as I have, you see that the claims that homosexuals can't get into heaven is false. Chock it up to mistranslations, people changing the bible to suit their political beliefs, and what not. Homosexuality happens in nature. As long as there has been homosapien, there has been homosexuals. I fail to see how that is a sin.

And I agree with my friend Jimithy, whose comment was unjustly taken off, don't base your opinion of Christians from the crazies on this site. They have no clue on what the Bible really says. In fact, most so-called Christians don't study the bible, let alone read it.

Anyone who takes the bible literally word for word without considering the current cultural and legal system of the land are RELIGIOUS FANATICS. This is North America 2007 if you want to be gay go ahead. I'm a Canadian born Muslim myself but I do believe the Christians have something about those without sin can throw the first stone.

its a question of defence, christianity is for sinners. the homosexuals, put us in danger for this reason .They dont exept it is wrong, because of that they wish to spread their teachings in schools and try and ruin more lives by recruting more members. creating a false belief, it carries with it a curse, aids and a promise at the end time cities will be destroyed if they practice the ancient evils of the past, the homosexuals have brought back this auful power and they are spreading it to such an extent that
the e.u. want a law forcing christian priest to perform same sex marriage against their religeon. who the hell do they think they are
its a very ancient evil they call modernisation.

I agree with you. There's nothing better or worse about being a homosexual over a heterosexual. To each their own.

But, technically, there is a "cure." With behavioral modification techniques it is entirely possible to change someone's sexuality (given enough time and resources).

What does this mean? Well, if someone was so inclined they could make a gay person straight. AND, they could also make a straight person gay. It's all in the conditioning.
