I used to be an evangelical Christian who believed everything the Bible taught, or so I thought. Then I decided to stop ignoring the contradictions in it and realized that I couldn't believe the entire thing without turning my brain off.

I read it from 2 Enoch of the jewish Pseudepigrapha. It says "He made Sotona from the heavens so his name was Satomail."

In 1 Timathy 3 it states
God was revealed in a human body.
He was vindicated by the Spirit
He was seen by angels
He was announced to the nations
He was believed in throughout the world.
He was taken into heaven in glory.

Can you find in the bible where it confirms each and every one of these.

For a question that you didn't ask, and does the chances of getting an answer to a question that you didn't ask go up if the real question is in multiple parts?

Obviously the trolls with the pornographic avatars and mindlessly hostile questions targeting specific religions are bad trolls, but where do we draw the line in the sand? Should those like the WSIDR have to go too? or the folks who post jokes to lighten people up a bit? Or the ones who post poetry and songs? What do YOU personally consider a troll to be?

For instance, the Bible says that we must believe in Jesus or we cannot be saved. In fact, Paul wrote about the Jews that they were "forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they may be saved". If a man in China who died three years after Jesus could not here the Gospel, would God have condemned him to burn for all eternity in the fires of Hell? There are two possibilities.

1. No. In this case, wouldn't it be better to not spread the Gospel? After all, if one is condemned for rejecting the Gospel, but not if he never had the chance to hear it he would be better off never having heard it.

2. Yes. In this case, God would be condemning a man to burn for all eternity for the sin of having been born in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Something to think about next time you want to send some missionary to some place that you believe needs the Gospel.

Oh btw ladies, it just doesnt affect blacks, it affects women too. You all are at risk also of not getting the promotion, not getting the job...women already make thousands less for the same jobs men do. So, end it, or keep it going?

when you can't even agree on what he is?

Is he everywhere and in all things, or is he outside of time and space?

Did he create us out of nothing as we are or did he influence evolution?

The basic things people tend to believe about god differ so very much and are rooted in nothing more than conjecture. Wouldn't you expect to have a better idea of the nature of something that actually exists? Especially one that you claim you have a personal relationship with?

If your answer is "faith" that just proves my point. Faith is not an indicator of truth, it is a hope that something is true in the absense of anything to support it.

I am African American myself. But I feel ashamed to see members of my race act rude, get loud and act obnoxiously, which is mostly common with girls who go to high school and some big for nothing girls who should know better. I see some boys and girls make fun of people at the metro station , act rude and talk loud on buses like they are the only ones on the bus.

I just think it creates a stereotype about blacks that we are rude, loud and arrogant, disrespectful which is not true of all blacks.

I have never seen a single white person do something like that.

The other day I was on the bus and a black guy, who was probably high on drugs yelled and assaulted this man who could father him.

I declare unto you the gospel . . . By which also ye are saved. . .that Christ died for our sins . . . And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day.

If this happened, did Jesus die for our sins?

If a mother dies to save her child, wouldn't she still be dead?

Besides the 3 days, what else did Jesus sacrifice?

If someone has chosen to fully surrender to God, and do all things for God's glory, as they begin to receive more strength and grace from God to overcome fleshly desires or addictions, what would it mean if they suddenly dreamed of Colossians 2:23(a scripture they weren't previously familiar with) the same day they were able to resist a temptation after much prayer and worship to God(that they they were not able to resist before)?

I know that God can speak to us through dreams, but does Satan have this ability as well? Could this be a reminder from God, or a form of accusation from the Devil to make one doubt they are truly overcoming these things through the power of Christ? Thanks

Colossians 2:23 says: Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed worship, their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body, but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence.
