Your information is way off. America is the wealthiest country in the world but its also 4 tillion dollars in debt. And when it comes to technological advances the U.S. is lacking compared to many European countries.

Huh? what are you talking about, most western european countries are as rich or almost as rich as the US (luxembourg has twice to GDP per capita of the US) and they are not far behind, they are a technologically advanced as it, its just because it is a big country, and has lots of people in it, it has more market dominance, but the EU is very strong if thats what you mean, and Americas economy is failing, badly, it will not be long before you are brought to your knees!! lolz

Europe is not so far behind any longer. Believe it or not, the U.S. is suffering (secretly suffering - just check out the State of Michigan's economy where the auto industry is falling quickly behind foreign imports).

because the "fat cats" up in washington decided to go and swallow any country that is "demoncratic". You every noticed whenever the hell a country goes democratic, it becomes a us. ally or territory. When this happens they give us their wealth or they "go boom."

They have to absorb the margin cost of running institutions across each nation. Our cost per person for government is much much lower than that of the combined European nations.
That's one reason.
