Sometimes Curiosity DOES lead to sin. For example, what is sex like, what does the opposite gender look like and so on.

A medieval reference to Lilith as the first wife of Adam is the anonymous The Alphabet of Ben-Sira, written sometime between the 8th and 11th centuries. Lilith is described as refusing to assume a subservient role to Adam during sexual intercourse and so deserting him ("She said, 'I will not lie below,' and he said, 'I will not lie beneath you, but only on top. For you are fit only to be in the bottom position, while I am to be the superior one.'"). Lilith promptly uttered the name of God, took to the air, and left the Garden, settling on the Red Sea coast. In this act, Lilith becomes unique in that she is not touched by Original Sin, having left the garden before Eve came into existence. Lilith also reveals herself to be powerful in her own right by knowing the name of God.

lilth was the first woman and was brave enough to leave the garden of eden. then god made an inferior woman named eve.

do people insist on giving "proof" (usually in the form of scriptures) that God exists, when the very meaning of "faith" stright out of the dictionary is "belief that is not based on proof"? This is once again not bash peoples beliefs just mearly a question.

Why do so many men like to spit on the street? I don't know if that has something to do with their nationality. I've been to many countries but I realized, that Pakistanis seem to do that very often. They don't care and spit right in front of your feet. Why?

I'm a gay college student and wanted to get some feedback on a question. What is up with heterophobia? When I started dating my ex-boyfriend, he did want to meet my closest friends simply because they were straight guys. He went off on some weird tangent on how no straight guy could ever be friends with a gay man and that more than likely they are just bad-mouthing me behind my back before he'd ever even met them. Other gay guys that I've known have given weird reactions, like I should be replacing my straight friends with gay friends and interacting more with the gay community. For me, I'm content with the way my life is but does anyone have any thoughts as to why I get the reactions that I do?

Including his most complex creation, human beings. People say God is perfect and wise in all ways, yet we show disdain for anything he allegedly created unless it appears to be "infused" with holy power or "sanctioned" to be holy by someone we accept as "closer to God" than the common man. By their very premise, everything is created by God, means He owns everything and everyone of us. What pray tell, gives us the audacity to hurt or destroy anything? Unless in some corner of peoples hearts, they don't truly believe everything they've learned about God. Making them hypocritical and judgmental at best. Why are they that way?

What do you get out of drinking that makes it worth the amount you spend?

How many hours, after taxes, do you have to work to pay for drinking?

Do you bear any other non-money costs of drinking? If you add in that cost is it worth it?

Really want to know.

"Real Men Don't Rape"?

2007-01-01 15:50:41 · 4 answers · asked by Anonymous in Other - Society & Culture

I recently just moved to a new area and am desperately in need of a hair cut. My old barber who had been cutting my hair since I was a kid never took tips, I didn't even realize people in this porfession took tips until watch the people's court. When I go out to eat, I usually am a gracious tipper, but I don't know how or how much to tip a barber. Some people say it comps them for chair rental, but I am usued to going to private barbers who don't have that issue.

Ultimately, I am more concerned with the how. It's not like he has a plate to leave it under or soemthing, and how much is appropriate.

It as a long day and we all found out that we had to stay an extra hour and school starts again tomorrow for most of us. Then when it comes time to clean up I'm out cleaning and most of the others are sitting around. When I am finnished I find everyone eating free pizza, but there is none left for all of the people who were just cleaning. I lost it. These people were the same ones who complained the loudest at having to stay and then did nothing. Was it so wrong for me to loose my temper?
