I was first tought the basics of 'magic' in an obscure occult bookstore by a clergy member who grew up on a commune her entire life. From those teachings I was introduced to other types of systems (Wicca, Chaos, OTO, etc.). I then spent alot of time with like-minds studing in groups, discussions and the like. After accumulating a large diverse library of reference material I began focusing on various thingsprac which I will not disclose. I am not much of a social practitioner of the occult, but I do enjoy collaberation.

Can you tell me how you learned about what you do?
Books, classes, circles of friends?

Someone offered this in another question, thinking, I presume to offer more credence to a theistic position.

Here is my opinion... Evolution, unlike the existence of a God IS a falsifiable hypothesis. That's part of what makes it science. The reason it hasn't been disproven is because there is no contrary evidence.

Showing evidence contrary to evolution wouldn't be difficult if it existed. If the animals on Earth didn't show evidence of heredity with older species, or if they showed markedly different structure, without common traits such as a common bone structure, that might work.

I guess I'm interested in seeing the different viewpoints, such as how creationists claim that evolution isn't falsifiable, and how evolutionists respond. What sort of exchange might this be?

I'm asking because repeatedly Christians have told me that they oppose same-gender marriage because a gay couple cannot produce a child of their own.

I have a Christmas tree that is a few years old, it is not prelit but it is in really good condition. I know that goodwill will take it, but I was curious if there was another organization that takes trees.
I live around Cincinnati, Ohio.
Thanks.

why go to such lengths to destroy it? America is one of the few countries in the world that actually allows Christians to live. Other countries have beaten, stoned, and imprisoned people for being Christian. After Jesus' death, the roman empire would kill anyone for being Christian, and this went on for about 300 years. It seems to me like the world is afraid of Christians. But why? I mean, it's just another silly religion with empty beliefs and false hope, right? And if the Bible is false, why validate it by persecuting Christians?

John 15:20 "Remember the words I spoke to you: 'No servant is greater than his master.' If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also."--Jesus

Unless, of course, it IS true.

I speak Arabic originally and English is my second language. I am translating this passage from Arabic to English and I am trying to find the terms which are usually used by English speakers. Because what I say seems not natural to an English speaker. Here they are :
1- Merciful death. That is when a person chooses to end his life because he is on life support machines and he is bored of it. Merciful death is what we say in Arabic. What is the equivalent for it in English?
2- "A disease which can't be cured from". I know it can be called a fatal disease, but what else can it be called as ?
3- "The machines which support life" . I know they are called "Life support machines" . Is this the closer term? or is there a better word ?
4- "Judicial authority" Like when something is outside a judge's lead because this is not his field. How do I say that? "Jurisdiction"??

Please stick around as I will ask more questions. Thanks alot and merry christmas. It's new year here in Egypt now
