I was first tought the basics of 'magic' in an obscure occult bookstore by a clergy member who grew up on a commune her entire life. From those teachings I was introduced to other types of systems (Wicca, Chaos, OTO, etc.). I then spent alot of time with like-minds studing in groups, discussions and the like. After accumulating a large diverse library of reference material I began focusing on various thingsprac which I will not disclose. I am not much of a social practitioner of the occult, but I do enjoy collaberation.

Can you tell me how you learned about what you do?
Books, classes, circles of friends?

I first realized magic might be real in the early 90's, but at the time I couldn't find books about it anywhere in the TX area--I got my first books (Cabot's "Power of the Witch" and Cunningham's "Truth about Witchcraft Today") on a visit to San Francisco! Luckily, the times they have a'changed, and I know know of several "new age" bookstores in the area, the Barnes & Noble metaphysical section is thorough, and there's a local chapter of the Covenant of Unitarian Universalist Pagans for me to check in with sometimes! Most of my learning is book learning, but a great deal is practice, especially since my specialty is the magic of fiction... not magic as presented in fiction, but how writing manifests into a kind of alternate universe/magic.

I was never 'taught' magic, it is in my bloodline. I can't explain what I do or see, but I can share images by simply touching people's temples. I also can read thoughts, tarot cards (and really not the traditional way but in a way that is truly exact), and have gotten messages from spirits. I don't practice 'socially', I am a sole practicioner. My dreams are my guides as well as my ancestors. I predicted the death of my brother when I was 5 using the tarot cards. I wasn't allowed to use them again for almost 30 years. They were my great grandmothers and are one of a kind (they don't have the usual things on them). Hope that helps you. By the way, I have had to tame my anger considerably as when I am really furious a tremendous thunderstorm is bound to erupt. Be careful with magic, it is not a toy.

I have very few friends who are the least bit interested in the occult, and i live in the south, so not many people travel outside of christianity... so my resources are limited to books (kinda blah, but i like reading...) and the internet. Im interested in learning about wicca, obviously, but i dont really wish to follow it. im more of an eclectic witch, following my own path. I just kinda take things from everywhere, but dont worry, im a good witch! lol.
feel free to email me sometime, id love to chat with someone about this stuff, since i really have no one...

Well I mostly learn from books. I have a wiccan store owner who sits down and teaches me. We talk alot about theology and wicca.

My husband teaches me about the Odinist. I think it is very interesting however I lean towards being a kitchen witch. My main focus is on herbs and crystals. I do spells every now and then but it is mostly herbs. I am still learning about everything.

From all the gay female wiccans in the army and a demon infested haunted house, but all the magic in the world did not get rid of the demons. Even my voodoo housekeeper couldn't get rid of the infestation.
