Then why do people of religion of all ages, keep believing in such things.

I know that some (very few) Christian churches have them; but, as many profess that God is never changing, why would Jesus establish the Twelve Apostles while on earth only to never have them again after he is gone? I’m not trying to prove a point, I’m just wondering why most Christian churches that “follow” Jesus don’t follow him in this way and don't have at least their own "Twelve Apostles". Ideas?

I sometimes wonder if a lot of Asian women here in the States consciously don't date Asian men. I know that not all Asian girls who date Caucasian men are this way (some just fell in love with a guy who was White), but I also see a lot of Asian girls who seem to actively hate Asian guys and do their best to stay away from them and never bother to give them a chance. Is my perception of the situation wrong? Sometimes I really wonder...I've heard a few of my Asian female friends say they're not into Asian guys...and then they settled for the nerdiest, boring White guy just because he was White. On the other hand, I know Asian girls who have dated all sorts of guys. Still, I sometimes wonder when I see an Asian girl with a White guy if she's only dating him bc she hates Asian men.

Honestly, I know people have heard this before, but I do believe that being an Asian guy in America really blows sometimes. When was the last time you ever saw an Asian guy on TV or in a movie that wasn't a kung-fu master or a total nerd? When have Asian men ever been portrayed as anything other than sexless, ugly, weak nerds or ugly, sexless, karate masters? I feel like there are very few women and gay men that find Asian men attractive in any way...other than the fact that many Asian guys make good money. I feel like a lot of Asian guys have low self-esteem when it comes to dating...they just assume no people find them attractive and nobody wants to get to know them. They could be smart, sweet, devoted, loyal, and successful, but many do not see themselves as attractive. I feel like no one does. It sucks for Asian guys in the US bc they are always being compared to White guys physically...does anything else matter to people when it comes to attraction? Are Asian guys rejects?

I love my fiancé; he's good to me. But my mother wants to call our wedding off for stupid reasons; such as he doesn't respect her. I asked her what she meant about that and she says that he has to stand up every time she walks in the room. She also calls him cheap because every time he sees me he has to buy me an expensive gift. He get's me flowers and candy whenever he gets a chance and I’m happy with that. But she wants him to get me diamonds. He already spent 6400 on my wedding ring alone. She doesn't like the ring. I can't stand her complaining. She does it all the time. I have never sat down with her for one minute without hearing her talk about how bad he is. It got to a point where i was crying at night because of it. The worst part is she is telling everyone she knows how bad he is. It's all lies about him!!!!

Not having anything planned for New Year's Eve, my fiancee and I decided to invite several of our friends over to our apartment. Unbeknownst to any of us, at the same time some of our common friends had planned a New Year's Eve bash at their place, but neglected to mention anything. Instead, they had already sent out invitations by mail which had not yet arrived. We found out about the conflict a couple of days later when we invited those friends to our party (the letters arrived that day, too).

Most friends we have in common, though there are some exceptions... who now plan on coming to my place on New Years, so I'd feel weird about cancelling my get-together in order to go to a different party. At the same time, it feels weird to have a party scheduled opposite friends of mine, and it feels weird to put our common friends in the position of having to choose one over the other.

What's the right thing to do, here, and how can this kind of situation best be avoided in the future?

Someone at work takes the trouble to paste his boggeys on the wall of the gents toilet, while he's on the pan obviously.We don't know who has this disgusting habit.Inspite of the notice to whoever it is to stop and dispose of their boggey in a hygenic and normal manner,it has continued and the office manager seems to have given up trying to appeal to this persons common sense.I as well as many others are sick to death with this filthy habit .What can one do to make this person stop?I need an urgent answer.

I was not raised in a religious family, but discovered spirituality on my own, studying various faiths along the way. Around the age of 20, I studied objectivism (Ayn Rand), and tended to follow the more 'rational' thought process. My two best friends are also objectivists, and view anyone with religious faith as weak. As of late, I have been thinking more and more about God, and faith, and have been reading the Bible (I've even considered being Baptised). But for some reason, there is this sinking feeling in my heart when I think about giving my life to Jesus Christ. I'm not sure why, because I am spiritual, and I do talk to God. But when it comes to being devout and putting all of my faith in the Lord, I recoil. If I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour, will my Objectivist thoughts cause turmoil? Has anyone else experienced this? Any thoughts?
