Since the bible was written by man who CLAIM to be writing down the words of god, should christians follow everything ordered in the bible. I mean, there are so many contradictory and repulsive statements in the bible, and it's all written down ( It's not misinterpritation, it is stated very clearly.) Why not just go with what you feel is right?

This is my source of where I found repulsive statements...

Someone came over 6 gardens to get to use in a row of terrace houses. We havent been burgled in the 18 years we have lived in this house.
No other property was touched or attempted. he took everything valuable we had downstairs including credit and debit cards, cash, drivers licence (old style) various letters and statements, watches, mobiles, all DVDs, CDs (he put the boxes back after taking Cds out. Same with DVDs. he put purse back in handbage and wallet as he found it. he sat at our computer and left it on. (not the moniter though) and then took all obvious CDs and DVDs that where wrapped up under tree. he then locked up after him and you would never have known he had been in. But for the fact he left my wifes handbag in the wrong place and she noticed straight away and looked within 5 mins of getting up.
Now we have recently got an expensive puppy dog and have had it for 8 weeks.
We walk it of course twice a day and get alot of people stopping us to take a look at the dog. Do you like me think they were after the dog but found the dog was upstairs with us in a penn and wouldnt risk going up stairs? or do think they saw the other penn in the front room and got a shock and thought **** there is a dog upstairs so i wont risk going up?
im now thinking they might come and try again for the dog at some other time.
I have stopped the wife taking the dog for a walk incase someone tries to take it from her. Am i overreacting or do you have a view on this whole issue?
Please no funny stuff please im really not up for it as you might expect.
thanks

Because they seem to get confused when we start talking about God's behavior in the Bible...like God is real. Should we drop the God is bad approach? Did anyone convert from Christianity because they disapproved of God?

Although Christmas is over, I still don't like the fact of Happy Holiday.....! Why does it bug me, because I am a Christian and that's what Christmas comes from. God sent an Angel Gabriel to tell Mary and Joseph the good new about their new baby boy! Little did they know, their baby boy would one day change the world! That boy was named Jesus, does everybody really think it's the best time and place to be taking Christ out of anything? I'm not putting any religion down, because i would want you to respect my religion! But God takes care of everything! So yeh.....it does bother me to take Christ out of Christmas!!!!!!

SO..... MERRY CHRISTMAS, HAPPY HANUKKAH, AND HAPPY KWANZA! Is my message clear enough! let's be respectful and acknowledge all the religions during holidays!

If you didnt have to bend over for Allah five times a day, squeezed together with other men and their rear ends in your face;

If you werent separated from the opposite sex and forced to be with men most of your life;

If you had any doctrines of "love" or tolerance, any at all;

If intolerance, self-righteousness, and ignorance werent the certain product of the religion;

If most armed conflict in the world werent Islamic;

If the greatest genocides in human history (Ex: Arab Islamic invasions of India) werent Islamic;

Would you then more serious consider the religion of peace?

Background Church of Christ. Recently, my new family began attending and even more recently placed membership at a church. I know that the church will help us study with the children (girl-9, boy-12), but I would personally like to know how this is done. What do they study? (more specifically than why we do what we do) Where do they get the information? (besides the Bible, are there study guides somewhere that will take you through what needs to be covered)

They have expressed interest in being baptized and I don't want to miss this opportunity to study. I need a refresher myself. Plus my husband is from a Catholic background...eventhough he has not expressed an interest in changing his faith (although supporting the family in this new church), I would like to include him in a no pressure study about the church.

Please only serious answers...i would like to get started on this study ASAP with the kids and my husband. Thanks.

real. So what's so good about that? What's so good about Jesus curing a couple of leppers who were diseased by God's will? God allows Satan to do what Satan wants, it's God's fault. Why don't Christians put this together?

It seems to me that all belief in God is a matter of personal faith, yet non believers argue from the pOV of the enlightened intellect(which of course no one on this planet is)

Which is worse?

God has been doing a work in me about letting go of the past and putting the past in the past and even though I have given over everything to the Lord there is this one instance that is a contention with me and bothers me.

I was in a very long courtship with my husband with total absitance and there were people giving us a hard time about getting married even though they had done things that were not excactly right in thier dealings.

There are times I still say I waited 3 years and 9 months for a lisence to practice and I earned the right to be married but this has gotten old and stale and people get tired of hearing these things.

I know of people that had easy breezy courthsips with little or no problems and I have been jealous of that.

My question is how to I lay this to rest and let go and move on I have a good marraige but the enemy is a lair and I get flashbacks of that tough time. How can I just let it go or use this instance to minister to others?

I am thinking about putting one of the Electric Fence Chargers up around the perimeter of my property to electrifyand protect my property. Do you think it is a good idea? There are NO laws saying I cannot do it I have already checked with a lawyer in the town I am from. It is from a company called Kencove www.kencove.com and it 7,500 VOLTS..

The tone of Answers has been so somber of late. And I ask why?The questions and answers are so dull - I 've had it with some of these people. We've got the Yamster taking his nunchuks to anybody that tries to make a joke or be irreverant, witty or sarcastic. Let's just rule these things out as literary devices because some people either don't understand them or can't take a joke. Then out of fear people imitate this somber tone and it sickens me. All day long "tsk tsk tsk" and finger wagging like we're back in elementary school. Look out or the Yamster will get you if your humour rises above the level of a clown being hit with a broom or if you spill soup down your shirt hey, it's okay to laugh at that. I like trolls - they keep it interesting and funny. Although I don't condone the pervs, without irreverance Answers becomes nothing more than housewives droning on about pictures of furry kittens. Has Answers gone content cuckoo?

Shoppers around the country say they are planning to spend an average of $907 for gifts this holiday season, down from $942 last year according to the 21st annual survey on holiday spending from the American Research Group, Inc. The overall average planned spending is down about 4% from 2005.

I spent $0 unless you consider food an expense...then about $50. How much did you good little sheep spend? How much debt did you encur? Was it worth it? Finding yourself with lots of garbage today?
