I've heard this said often on this forum, but I'm not sure what it means. I'm not interesting in the "Appeal to Tradition" fallacy that says, "If that's how it was, it's how it should be." I'm wondering if the nation was Christian or the founders were?

The sentence is 'She___ into the room quietly so that no one would hear her.'

I have to complete it with one of these words, either 'crept' or 'wondered'. My first choice was crept, but seeing as 'to creep' already implies to walk very slowly and quietly, I thought it was a pleonasm. So which word is best? Why?

I would love to hear your input. Personally I feel the majority are less educated so it turn they make bad decisions. I'm sure I'm going to get chewed out for this but it's my opinion and I'm free to use it in America. God I love this country. It's so good to be free.

I am 32, but I look much younger. Alot of people think that this is a good thing, but it can be annoying as well. I find that alot of times people don't take you seriosly. Every time I go out I'm always getting carded &/or hit on by 21 year olds, & when I tell them that I'm 32 & married with a 7 year old son they think I'm lying just to get rid of them. Also, people can be very rude, I've had several people look at me in an unapproving way when I'm out with my son... & and some people even have the nerve to say things like "you are way to young to have a child that age." I"ve learned to get used to it to a certain degree, but there are some days I just don't feel like dealing with other peoples rude assumptions.

the act of producing a child. Hench, immaculate a birth was unblieveable to doubters of Christ. Now we have found this is possible with artifical insemination. Yet man still doubts the birth of Christ through measures of divine conception. The ability to do was foretold hundreds of years ago by His birth and man has manage to come as close as he can to reproducing this act. Which gives validation to the possiblity of Divine conception without sex. If this is true how much truer is it possible that The Birth of Christ is REAL???

For full disclosure, I am a recovered christian who walked into the light of atheism several years ago...

One question that always bugged me when I was a christian was the concept of jesus' "suffering" for sins on the cross.

There are other forms of crucifixion that are much worse including breaking the legs of the victim so they suffocated sooner; being crucified upside down, etc.

There were much worse ways to be executed in the ancient world.

Why do you think his crucifixion was so bad that he "took on all the sins of the world"?

Some Pagans celebrate it on the 21st of December, some celebrate it on the day the calendar says it's Winter Solstice.

When do you celebrate it, if you do?

I'm celebrating it today, for those who may be curious.

Merry Yule, Pagans and not!

Have a happy, productive winter season!

I have heard that, in order to understand Chinese, you must learn at least 3,000 characters. How big of a keyboard would that be?

Our keyboard is about a foot long, and we have 26 letters, so a Chinese keyboard must be about 115 feet long!

But seriously, how DO they type Chinese?????

How many times has a sales rep or cashier said Merry Christmas to you while you were shopping this season? I was pleasantly surprised when i was told Merry Christmas 7 times in one day while shopping at various stores! I'm glad the liberal agenda is dieing, thankfully a lot of stores are remembering this is CHRISTMAS and wishing us a Merry one, instead of the politically correct happy holidays or seasons greetings. Merry CHRISTMAS to you all ! :-)

According to the CIA website the UK has (under the heading Religions) 71.6% Christians, made up of Anglican, Roman Catholic, Presbyterian, Methodist etc.
There are 2.7% Muslims.
There are also Hindu 1%, other 1.6%, unspecified or none 23.1%

There is a marked absence of Christmas decorations in every Government Office (with access to the public) I have visited recently including the local Tax Office, JobCentre, Local Council Offices etc. The reason I was given at all these places was that it might cause offence.

There have been many Imams giving 'hate' speeches though.
This and the self inflicted Political Correctness has put a dark shadow on the way Government Offices are seen to celebrate Christmas.

The Hindu 1%, other 1.6%, unspecified or none 23.1% have not uttered a word against Christianity.

The UK has been a Christian country for over 2000 years.
