My boyfriend and I have been together for nine months, and we have been friends for several years.

During the entire time I have known him, I have heard him mention several times that he hates feet, that they are disgusting, and that he is aversive to touching anyone's feet and the like, which never really seemed odd to me, because I know a lot of people are grossed out by feet for whatever reason.

However, I get the feeling that maybe he just claims he hates feet to cover the fact that he actually has a foot fetish. For example, we have been in restaurants before in the summer where I have been wearing sandals, and he has subtlely reached down and started massaging my foot under the table (with other guests at the table, mind you). Also, during sex, if I am on top, he will reached around my legs and grab my feet and start rubbing them.

Anyway, it won't bother me at all if he has a foot fetish, I am just not really sure what the deal is, so I'd appreciate any reponses! Thanks!

Ok, if we were made by God, for the sake of argument, a Christian God, then how come we have people who are black, red, yellow, tall, big nosed etc.... i.e racial characteristics that have come about through years of isolation/breeding. Take for instance Australian native aboriginals, they have a very distinctive look.... so how come, if we are all descendents of Adam and Eve? Also, if The Christian faith is the one true religion, how come God/Jesus didn't make themselves known to these people?

This question can be transposed onto pretty much any religion with a creation myth.

I know their books are selling well, and I've read them both. They're mentioned here all the time.

But, have you heard them being discussed around the water cooler at work, at the bar/coffeeshop, ... at church? Are they making people think, or preaching to the atheist choir?

I recently had some in-depth chats with a Brazilian girl I met on the net, we chatted a lot about Brazilian culture, economy, and international status, and so forth. But when I kinda linked Brazil to Portugal, her immediate reaction was, "Oh, I don't think Portuguese people like us, they actually quite look down on us..." then I kinda felt sorry for bringing that topic up..So I am wondering if it's true that Portuguese, I mean some of them, have really bad opinion on Brazilians? Or things are not as what my Brazilian friend said?

Condemnation or Celebration
The Definition of War is a contention by force, or the art of paralyzing the forces of an enemy. War is not only an act, but a state or condition, for nations are said to be at war not only when their armies are engaged, so as to be in the very act of contention, but also when, they have any matter of controversy or dispute subsisting between them which they are determined to decide by the use of force, and have declared publicly, or by their acts, their determination so to decide it.
In the Iliad it both celebrates and condemns war. In the last couple of books in the Iliad it has many examples of how it celebrates war. For example: in book 21 Achilles’ heart is bent upon evil actions and thus it drives him to insanity and causes him to act rashly and without honor. Yet the Iliad celebrates war because men gain Honor and Respect from the brave deeds and actions he performs in battle. Achilles had honor and he was respected and looked up to. It also celebrates war when it talks about how people died. When Paris is talking to Diomedes after he shoots at him, “A hit! This time it was no miss! I only wish it had gone into your belly and killed you!” These men Glory in war. But war has its consequences. Men, dear ones, friends die. Patroclos was killed by Hector, Achilles killed by Paris, and many others were killed. In a way this story is a tragedy because yes the Greeks win but what price do they pay to win? Mistrust, greed, hate, bitterness and pain are results of what happens when men are forced to fight for 9 years. Agamemnon steels Achilles’ girl and causes mistrust between the two of them thus when Agamemnon needs Achilles help, Achilles, because of pride, will not join the fray until close to the end of the war.
I believe war is a necessary evil! These men fight for 10 years over a woman and when the war ends Menelaos is almost willing to kill Helen, the very reason the whole war was started. They do win in the end but was it truly necessary? I guess because hey came out the victors over the Trojans.
