Do you think your parents would have an underlying violent tone be it in writing or speech, when you have done something to anger or offend them?
If someone wants to help you reform and wants the best for you for all eternity, would they or would they not reprimand you or warn you until you repent and mend your ways?
God loves us and desires the best for us. I would think that if He warns in a stern way, it is to show that He is serious and expects us to introspect.
However, He is VERY MERCIFUL.

In all beliefs there are stern and even violent warnings. God is trying to make his children understand the dark consequences of their deeds. I'm sure you too have used warnings of a sinister nature.
It is what man makes of the writings that can make them most sinister. Like the Muslim extremists or the Zealots of the Christian faith.
The ten commandments have a Strong and Sinister set of warnings for those that would not follow them.

No. God would not encourage violence. There may be exceptions to the rule but the thought of people encouraging violence in the name of God reminds me of something that happened in September five years ago.
