I am the new person in the office, where there a total of five of us. I have been here since July - which is long enough to participate in the girt giving of Christmas (they all celebrate it, so there is no alternative holiday issues for them). Being the new person, entry level, and a newlywed I have a rather tight budjet. I thought I would find a nice christmas mug or basket, fill it with candy and a stuffed santa for the ladies and a wooden brain puzzle for the engineers.Two of the people can have regular candy, one is a diabetic so they will get sugar free candy. My problem comes with the lady that just had gastric bypass surgery - what munchie treat can I put in hers? She is kind of a pain in the but, and arrogant (I get nice clothes second hand - she sneers at the idea etc). But I still want to do something nice for everyone - any help would be appreciated! Thank you

I go to church on Saturday because the bible says "God blessed the Sabbath day and hollowed" and one of the Ten Commandments says "Remember the Sabbath Day and keep it holy, for on the sixth day God made the Heavens and Earth the sea and all within it and on the Seventh day though shall not work ." so why do people go to church on Sunday?

Why is it that muslims as soon as you criticise their religion say you are going to hell! Was this not the ploy the Christian church used in the Middle ages to keep the populace in line?

Wake up muslims we are in the 21 st century......takes more than hellfire and damnation to worry us in the West.....try reasoned argument.

We're throwing a surprise birthday party for our Mom's 60th. It's mostly family but we're inviting a few of her good friends. Since it's mostly family we're all going to pay our own bill at the restaurant(a really nice one). How do we politely tell her friends this in the invitation? "You are invited, but you have to pay foot own bill" That doesn't sound right. Can someone please give me the proper way to put this in the invitation?

Somali Islamist forces and pro-government troops dug in on Wednesday on either side of a frontline in the divided Horn of Africa nation which has this week slid closer to all-out war.

Regional power Ethiopia, however, scoffed at an Islamist vow to attack Somali government lines unless Addis Ababa withdraws within a week troops backing the interim administration.

The Islamists on Tuesday gave Addis Ababa, which is backing the government, seven days to withdraw what it says are more than 30,000 Ethiopian troops in Somalia -- or face war.

Somali prime minister Gedi told Reuters the Islamist forces, backed by 4,000 foreign fighters spread around the south, were moving into position for a possible imminent attack on Baidoa.

"I don't think that they are ready for dialogue, for peace and stability to prevail in Somalia. In that case, war may become inevitable," he told Reuters in Nairobi, adding that government forces were ready for battle.
