I understand that they don't like evolution because it contradicts their theology, but regardless of the evidence they don't want to believe it. But really, they are supposed to be good honest people "Thou shalt not bear false witness", yet they deliberately propagate lies about science and in particular evolution science.

A lot of people suddenly show up for Christmas Eve church services who hardly ever go at other times. Why go then and not other times? Or why not go all the time or never?

Not like a war, I mean something that happened over a day or two?

I say the Hiroshima bombing. Over 100,000 Japanese people in one shot. It was terrible.

I know there are many scholars who can read Latin and use the language for that purpose, but I don't know anyone who can actually converse. Can students who study Latin, for example, communicate in Latin about everyday matters like their peers who study, say, German or Spanish can? Or is Latin today, since it is a dead language, mostly a reference language used for research, and we do not have enough information to reconstruct it for speaking purposes? I am thinking about pronunciation, but also vocabulary, grammar, sentence construction, accent and intonation, rhythm... Can a scholar who studied seriuosly Latin for many years be confident, that if he/she could go somehow back in the past, will be able to easily communicate with the citizens of that time and mutually understand each other? I know Latin evolved and changed a lot through the ages, and I am asking this in general terms, but I would be particularly interested in our knowledge of Latin as spoken by Gaius Julius Ceasar.

and still keep the "worldly" Christmas fun - (santa, reindeers, frosty, etc)

I don't have children - but my husband and I have been struggling with this issue. He doesn't want our children to ever believe in Santa ... I am ok with that ... but I don't know how, this day in age, you can't teach your kids about santa... ?

Ideas?
Thanks :)

Last week an airport took down Christmas trees because a Rabbi wanted them to display a Menorah as well. Would it have been appropriate for the airport to display the Menorah? Would it be appropriate for a city or county to display a Menorah with their annual holiday decorations? What about a private citizen who wants to add the Menorah to their traditional holiday display? Are there special rules associated with the display of a Menorah by gentiles?

What are the basic beliefs of Paganism? To make it more clear, what are your beliefs concerning these issues (Please don't use long quotes from wiki or something, I want Pagans to answer this, BASHING WILL BE REPORTED).
- God and creation (And what are your views about evolution).
- Sin concept: Does it exist in your belief? If not, what is considered wrong in your belief system?
- Heaven and hell? Do you believe they exist? If so, who goes there (What happens to the non-Pagans)? And is there an afterlife in your beliefs? And what about The Judgment Day?
-Homosexuality: Do you see it as a normal act according to your beliefs?
-Finally: What is the difference between Paganism and Neo-paganism?

Thanx a million in advance.
