A young biology student went home and put his home work on the kitchen table as his mother was washing up . He looked at his book and then looked at his Mum and said: "How do you spell clitoris mum."

His mum said: "I don't know how to spell that, ask your dad he had it on the tip of his tongue last night."

I have always been taught that we enter heaven on our beliefs and practices. Why and how could prayer for me after I pass on help me ? Doesn't that seem like a popularity contest ? If you don't have enough people praying then you are out of luck ? Where is this taught ? I have never seen a reference to anything like it in my bible.

I hate lazy people who sit in their *** all day. People take way to much advantage of the government. You got drug dealers who get welfare cards to feed their families, yet they are rolling on rims, worth more than their shitty cars. People who can't work I can understand but if you got 2 functionable legs and arms, whats wrong with this country?

There are 3 basic beliefs regarding Thor

1) Believer - believes in Thor
2) Thor-Agnostic - believes there may be a god named Thor, but isn't convinced
3) Thor-Atheist - states to know without a doubt that Thor does not exist

The first two are natural and logical positions, but to be an Thor-atheist (to absolutely KNOW that Thor doesn't exist) you would have to be omniscient and have perfect knowledge of the universe. Can anyone here make that claim?

The fact is, Thor-atheists do not KNOW that Thor doesn't exist. Thor-Atheists don't WANT Thor to exist because to acknowledge Him they would have to face their unbelief, so they willfully deny Thor’s existence.

There are those who believe that life begins at conception when sperm meets the egg. I don't necessarily disagree with that.....

What I'm wondering is whether that life is any different than, say, plant life. Plants are alive, but stomping on a new shoot isn't considered murder.

So is life one thing, and being "ensouled" another? Even if there is life at conception, is it considered a soul at that time? Or just life, like a plant?

Please tell me your thoughts on this.

You assume that one has to have a belief in God to be moral and make sound, responsible decisions or to keep one from making the wrong ones. How then do you explain the rampant fraud, sexual misconduct, killings, tortures, slavery and other deplorable acts committed in the name of your god since nearly the introduction of your religion? How do you account for all the lives changed around the world that have not subscribed to your same brand of religion? Are their transformations somehow more suspect than your own simply because they took another path?

Take Bush as JUST an example. Say I totally 100% disagree with anything and everything he stands for. Yet as a Christian i am to follow our "leaders". What if they are immoral and corrupt? Are we supposed to sit back and be Christians and let them decide what is fair and just? Or should we "act out" and speak our minds, go against them and do what we feel in our hearts as right?
