The Bible tells us to "be subject" to our leaders as long as they don't tell us to disobey God. That means among other things that you have to pay taxes and obey the laws of the land. You are only supposed to "follow" Jesus. If you disagree with the President's policies you can do so, and within the limits of the laws of this land, protest against them and seek to have them changed in a respectful manner because of his office not because of your personal feelings towards him. If leaders are immoral and corrupt then they should be legally removed from office.
Romans 13:1 Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. 2 Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. 3 For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, 4 for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God's wrath but also for the sake of conscience. 6 For the same reason you also pay taxes, for the authorities are ministers of God, attending to this very thing. 7 Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed.

no, the Bible says obey God. God comes first, then leaders. If it does not go against God, then you should comply. If not, you should not. It is not whether you agree or disagree, but rather what God says about it. Romans 13:2 says, "he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against God." Yes, some leadership positions can turn corrupt. It is our duty to elect good people to rule us and take down corrupt people. Why else do you think we are in Iraq? I don't think Bush goes against God or the Bible. If you can find a verse that rebukes his actions, then by all means share.

You are to follow the laws of your leader by not breaking them. This is a free country you do not have to agree with the leaders. Be careful what you say, this is just the kind of ammo athiest and others look for to furthur their retort against the Bible and Religion.
Nice hat by the way, excellent taste! Have a lovely day

We are to pray for our leaders regaurdless if we agree with them or not. After all who is really in control of the universe?
We are to follow the laws of the land and obey them.
So I accept the outcome of this election and will continually pray for the leaders, but I'm praying that God will weed out the corrupt ones.

Don't forget God gave us a beautiful gift, "freedom of choice". You can choose who you believe to be right. I also believe that God was talking of our religious leaders as well, politics is definitely a world of corruption. There really is now one way to know if our politicians are telling the truth. However, with our religious leaders, they have taken vowels before God, that is when you must have "Faith" when you follow or "obey" them. Your faith is in God that these religious leaders will lead you. Faith as well in our political leaders that they truly have America's best interest at heart. God Bless

There is a difference between obey and respect.
Even if you don't respect the man, you should still respect the position.
There are ways for voicing your displeasure. One of the ways was illustrated yesterday. That is what makes America so great. There was no civil war, no armed conflict. People wanted things to change, and they made it so.
