There is an "end of the world" myth in every civilization, most involve the gods coming down and remaking the world as well.
Many civilizations have a flood myth, lots have some tell of giants, unicorns, trolls and the such. That doesn't mean they're bound to happen, only that all the people of the world wondered about these things.

This is not an africian prophecy but the inspiration of the lord thy God from the holy bible. All the saints will be caught up in the air when Jesus comes in the clouds and this event will occur at the end of the world. The other great events can be read in the book of Revelation of the King James Holy bible.
