Why judge so harshly? Is it because of our President? But it can't be just because of him can it? And why is it assumed that we are are all obese/lazy/uneducated...there are actually some pretty good people here who are willing to accept other people in other countries and I am one of them! And I am curious to know what else you think of us...Thanks!!

A mutual friend saw him at a gay/lesbian event, so I'm pretty sure he is gay, which I support. But he hasn't come out of the closet to me yet, so I'm not sure that I should let on that I know. I want to offer him support and encouragement and even congratulate him, but that might make him uncomfortable, since I'm not supposed to know. Should I just wait until he's ready to tell me? He might need as much support as he can get, and someone to talk to about this. I'd like to be there for him, but I don't want to out him before he's ready. What should I do?

This holiday is already so commercialized that it has lost its charm for me. Stores claim they have to get a head start to stay competetive, but I think that's bogus. I don't want to hear the word "Christmas" until the day after Thanksgiving. How about the rest of you? Am I alone?

Some say that those who share the gospel with those who believe differently and dont "accept" them are not real christians....but that is like telling someone you love "its ok if you will be separated from God forever, I still love you" --That is NOT love! Love is telling them the good news! Not giving up hope on them! Praying for them! Not joining in with what they believe- not telling them its "ok" if they believe something that is against God and what the Bible says- So what is a Christian? Someone who FOLLOWS Christ-

Matthew 4:19
"Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men."

My children are ages 6, 3, and 7 weeks. 3 weeks after i had my baby, my husband had to have surgery to remove his appendix. Just this last Monday, I had to have my gall bladder taken out. Because of all the mounting bills, I don't think we will have much money to spend on Christmas this year. Does anyone know where I can go in Arkansas to get assistance? Thank you.

Desiderata

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

This Q is directed to you and those looking after Q&A in Yahoo.
Why 3 of my Q's has been removed???
It is all about religion and I didn't attack any person or religion!
The main subjects I discussed is trying to make some clerifications from Christians about their believes. And I was serious. !!!!!????
So, what things should I ask if I'm not allowed to talk about faith and believes in Religion & Spirtuality Forum???!!!
OR should I ask a Christian about Islam and not his religion???
I think what Yahoo is operated and rolled by people from Middle East, and third world country, the things which you write should be similar to what they believe???

Basically when it comes right down to it, I think all religion is based on some pretty common themes. I was just wondering what the rest of the world thought.
