It is impossible for man to know everything about God. Here are some scriptures that support that fact. Romans 11:33,34 "O the depth of God's riches and wisdom and knowledge! How unsearchable his judgements are and his past tracing out his ways are! For 'who has come to know Jehovah's mind, or who has become his counselor?'" Job 36:26 "Behold! God is more exalted than we can know." Ecclesiastes 3:11 "Even time indefinite he has put in their heart, that mankind may never find out the work that the true God has made from start to the finish." Job 37:23 "As for the Almighty, we have not found him out."

This question exists even if someone is an atheist -- SOMETHING (process, god, potential, whatever) had to have always existed AND this SOMETHING had to have in it all the necessary elements that results in a universe, etc. I used to think about something always existing and would try to figure it out and .... NO ONE can. The human mind just can't get around it. Every single person who thinks this is a simple issue or can be explained away hasn't thought about it long or deeply enough. I think the only thing to say is that there are those who do have direct experiences of this 'something' (enlightenment experience) and the experience shows them that we and IT have always been. And that does make sense even without having this experience - if this something contains everything necessary to create the universe, then everything really has always been as well.

He is the beginning and the end- the Alpha and Omega- He has always "been"
Ecclesiastes 3:11
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
-John 1:1 Says that the Word was with God in the beginning and the Word WAS God...God is the beginning...there is nothing else before Him. He is the beginning and the end. The same, yesterday, today and forever!

Assuming I believed in god, this is what I would say. Christians take note: this is a great argument.
To say where did god (an eternal being) come from is to presupposed that time has any meaning to the almighty. In other words, you suppose that there was something before god, which there wasn't.
Think of it this way: as anything approaches the speed of light, time slows down. At the speed of light, time stops or, put more accurately, ceases to have any meaning. NOw if time is meaningless to light (or anything else moving at the speed of light) what makes you think it has any meaning to the being who created light?

God is infinite. He always existed. If He was not infinite then He would not be God. If He was not infinite then He would have had to have been created. The being before Him who created Him would then be God and He would just be a created being.
God is infinte and we are finite. It is difficult for a finite creature to think in infinite terms.
Answers in Genesis has many answers about the beginning.
The Bible also has explains it. Go to Bible Gateway and look up the words, Alpha, Omega, and the phrase I AM.

i belleeve that he was there before us and will be there forever. like numbers, you can go into minus infinitii and positive infiniti. numbers have no end no finish ,no start.
its a hard concept for humans to understand becuse we beleeve that evrything has to be made before hand by something. but the only reason where here is koz god made us.
weird how in the vast universe where the only planet where life is..
and where the 3rd planet from the sun.... where is isnt too hot or too cold for us to survive in. and weird how we have an ozone which blocks out harmful UV rays and this could go on forever .....

Why would you not want to question the existence of God? I consider that a primary responsibility of being a genius is to question everything -- for only by such questioning can the truth be unveiled. That is basic science: you suppose a hypothesis, and do everything that you can to tear it apart; only if it survives rigorous tests can it be considered reliable enough to be useful.

He can't come from any where, because He is everlasting and eternal. We can't understand everything God knows, because it says in the bible who understands the mind of God, and the answer is no. We are stuck in time, and with God, there is no such thing as time, that is why we must seek God quickly before our time is up.

The bible says that even before the earth was created, there was God and Wisdom. It's too awesome to think about! Wisdom existed before Christ.
