Has anyone see Andrew Denton's new movie 'With God on my side' ? Im an athiest and I want to see it so badly! He goes to one of those pentecostal conventions in Texas! But like he says, it just becomes a matter of 'My invisible friend is better then your invisable friend' pettiness between christians/other religions. What do you guys think?

Again I ask this with real meaning and do not mean to upset anyone, it's something that occured to me when I was younger, now I am an atheist.

If God is a forgiving God, and is the ultimate forgiver, a supreme being who can look into the hearts and minds of us all and see us for who we turely are, then why would he not forgive someone who doesn't believe in him? Or someone not of his faith or anyone for anything even if they do not turn to Christianity in their lives?

Let us say that I remain an athiest for the rest of my life. Not through choice but because I just don't believe as I have written in another question and to say other wise or to pretend to believe would be a lie. Then I die and lo and behold there is God waiting on the other side. I could then say "You do exist! Tell me why I didn't believe?" As the all knowing person he/she is with ultimate forgiveness wouldn't he forgive me? I believe I would if I were God and I'm not as great as he is.

I want to know what Holy Grail consists of. Any information on where it is would be appreciated. Though I've read Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code, I cannot quite seem to comprehend what the Holly Grail is? Is it in the Vatican City or is it still a mystery? Please update. Thanks in advance

Read this heartbreaking article about individuals who trusted their problems to prayers that went unread, unanswered, totally ignored.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/unanswered_prayers

When you have a problem, should you pray about it? Should you ask others to pray? Or should you use your time productively, planning solutions and seeking input and assistance from others?

Your first response to a difficulty or challenge matters a great deal, as it can mean the difference between resolving a situation immediately or allowing it to fester, destroying your chances to lead a happy, successful life. If your first (or only) response is the inaction of prayer or requesting prayer from others, you may sabotage your opportunity to correct the situation.

Whether you are religious or not, believe in prayer or not, please answer this question in as logical a manner as possible.

1. What is the point of saving 2 of each "kind" in the flood if many go extinct? And incase you don't know, MOST animals throughout history have gone extinct thanks to other animals, so you can't say it was our greedy nature.

2. Why was god so lazy that he didn't just create animals after the flood instead of having to save 2 of each kind?

3. What is the point of saving 2 of each kind if some animals reproduce asexually?

I'm a Muslim who has been to Hindu temples on many occasions, with friends. Sometimes I like to visit it alone. Now, do you as a Hindu feel that this is right? What do the scriptures have to say in this regard? Please justify from a Hindu perspective and NOT a secular one.

In other words atheists are 7 times less likely to commit a crime than a person who believes in God.
On this basis should not people stop believing in God/Allah etc.

Whether I "know" or not is irrellevent. Muslims "know" they are going to paradise to have continuous sex with 72 renewable virgins after they die their martyr's death. Ancient Norsemen held comfort in "knowing" that after they died in battle they'd be drinking mead by a roaring fire with Odin in Valhalla. You, just like them, surely "know" that you'll spend your eternity with Yahweh and Jesus. You see, to know means nothing.

I believe that all gods and goddesses are imaginary. Conversely, I also lack belief in them. Why? Because science has proven that the mythological accounts of creation -- there are tens of thousands -- are false by proving their own: cosmic evolution, chemical evolution and biological evolution.

Catholics, I sincerley ask you, why do you worship Mary, saints, relics, icons, pray in vain repetition on the rosary which Jesus told us not to and believe in purgatory which nullifies the cross of Christ? And if you don't then why are you in a religion that does? I, too, was born a Catholic but once I started reading the bible, I could see the evil in the religion and had to get out. Most Catholics seem to pick and choose what parts of Catholism they want to keep and what parts they want to toss out and think it's ok to stay in it. God called Israel a harlot for tolerating pagan practices like these. He said of the great harlot in Rev. "Come out of her my people". Most non-christian churches don't denounce Christ, they just corrupt his teachings. And what about how they tortured and murdered Christians in the midevil times. Do you know that priests used to be able to marry but the church didn't want them leaving their houses to their children and not the church.

From the birth of religion and the idea of gods, there was not actual proof and if there were there is no proof of that. So people’s faith in Jesus is all based on a hypothesis that if the church keeps the values of the bible they can retain power and the ideological effect would be that the societies will some what follow the law.
So what would happen if we suddenly find out that all religions are means of control. Hitler as much of a mad man as he was is a good example of how he got people to follow him and most without question. The point is this has been going on for thousands of years., so are our ideological taught and our societies built on lies.
