It means that it looks good on him, and on anybody else who sits in the church and preaches intolerance and bigotry as they pretend to be better than others, with their self-righteous agenda.

At least the truth is coming "out" for Rev. Ted Haggard -- just as it did with Rev. Jim Bakker and Rev. Jimmy Swaggart, and others who have lied their way to the top.

Numbers 32:23 from the Bible, "... be sure your sin will find you out".

Hypocrites should also remember that in other terms: "people who live in glass houses should not throw stones."

Of course it doesn't mean that all Christians are hypocrites. It simply means that this ONE man was a hypocrite. We gays get upset that people stereotype us as pedophiles over the acts of a few people. We should not do the same; we should know better!

That is, of course, if he is guilty of what is being alleged. That is by no means certain at this time.

No, it does not mean that all Christians are hypocrites, just as Rep Mark Foley's indiscretions with Capitol pages does not mean all Republicans are hypocrites.

What it does indicate is a sad state of affairs when a group so despises gays and lesbians that its members are forced to hide who they are and resort to these kind of shenanigans, rather than live openly loving whom they wish.

Hatred breeds hypocrisy.

It's pretty wild isn't it. I can tell you one thing, I was overseas with a particular denomination, and one of their people was caught being sexual with a local woman. It was an Asian country and the women were very beautiful. Anyway, he was married and had kids, and the denomination sent him away to thailand for a "rest". It was totally covered up, I just found out from some locals. It makes me sick. If you have clout in most denominations I believe you can get away with a lot.

I think that anytime you put yourself into a situation where something is repressed--in this case, sexuality--it's going to find a way out. Priests and the like are told that they must be chaste for their entire lives, and while that might seem noble, it's extremely frustrating and inevitably, for some, will result in inappropriate behavior.
