Just like people of any other nation, there are good and bad ones. The French have this reputation of being arrogant but most of the French people I've met are truly nice.

If you want to know what the French are like seen from an Anglo lens, check out the book "Almost French" by Sarah Turnbull. The author is an Australian journalist who moved to Paris about 15 years ago. The book is full of examples of differences between the two cultures. She also explains sometimes why these differences exist and how to overcome them. I am a french canadian and I must admit sometimes the French elude me. They have a very distinct culture and tradition is very important to them (as for a lot of other European peoples).

Wow! That's kind of a weird question! What do you think about French people? I mean, come on, grow up! You can't just put everyone in the same boat. If I said "Hey, what'd you think of American people?" and that everyone answered "Well, they're all lazy and eat at McDonald's all the time, they like war and reelected the dumbest president on earth twice, they're selfish and think the world belongs to them..." and so on. How would you feel?
Those are all stereotypes!
Hello, people aren't the same.

Hmmmm. I am a francophone myself, but I happen to have little to no patience or tolerance for the french from France people.
I am fine with them until they start "invading" other populated areas, like Quebec Canada, and then they think they are superior, better than us Quebecois barbarians, and that they should "educate" us in their ways, you know...
...stuff like eating supper at 9pm at night and then making a racket after that... See some of us have to wake up at 5am in the morning to go to work (you know, like jobs? To pay the bills?) and we working types would appreciate to be able to go to bed at 9pm, not endure your nightly parties every single day and night!
That's my beef against France people; their lack of respect for others. I could give 100 examples of this from personnal experiences over the years... But not enough time!

I think they r great.... of course, they r not all the same, but anyways... I like the fact that they are trying to protect their language from different influences... I admire and respect that... I think that french people are also very romantic... My aunt married last year a french man and now their are living their... and he is just great....

my uncle is french and he is so strange at times. seems like he doesnt want visitors but when he has them, he is the best host...
he cooks sooo good too, i love eating at his house.
last time i went to france i had a problem in lyon. this lady didnt speak spanish or english and i could say very little things in french so communication was a problem. i was trying to pay for some stuff and she was saying i couldnt. i had enough money so i dont know why she wouldnt take it. she was really rude and i was embarrased... i called my dad, who speaks fluent french and he payed. i dont remember if he told why she wouldnt take my money.
in england i met this french girl, sabrina, she was learning english, and she was really nice. we use to write, not email, its back in 89, and from england she went to spain to learn spanish, so she wrote to me in spanish. so what can i say about the french, i love the hot chocolate outside the eiffel tower :)
maybe like in any country, some nice, some bad

people love referring to the past, why not the future? Yes, the french maybe weak and different but someday people would want them to be there ally in some other war that might happen. I don't know much about the french but I do know that they want to be treated equal.

I personally have only met a couple people from France.
Liked them both.
My company does business with one French company. They are always polite and intelligent, and they pay their bills, can't ask for much more from a customer.
So, in my limited experience, I like French people!

very nice in general, sometimes impatient, jealous of the Brits (only because we don't need to learn another language lol), generally racist (in the south)
I knew this French women and when she told her old man that she was marrying an Englishman, the old man 'took to his bed' for two weeks didn't do anything or talk to anyone - just sat there in bed - that's why i love french people!!
