how many of you go out like me to the stores and shop till you drop the day after Thanksgiving? my husband thinks im crazy for doing that,,, but its kinda like a tradional thing for me and my mom to get up at 230 or 3 am and head out for the mess

I am dismayed that so many preachers campaign for the Republicans from the pulpit. To me, they represent all that Jesus preached against. They are intolerant, pompous and legalistic. Jesus preached tolerance, humility and choice. Am I wrong?

Asalaamu alaikum. I'm a convert and i go to a private christian school. The uniform skirt is too short. I feel really embarrassed to bring up this problem with anyone at the mosque. Well I decided to come to some compromise even if i'm not ready to wear hijab yet- i got permission from an authority figure to wear high socks. But my school principal (who has had it in for me for 6 years) today said that permission is denied, even for religion. I can understand that i signed a contract about the uniform policy, but it's not like i have bad intentions or anything. So my question is what should i do about it? I didn't want to make a big deal out of it since it is an all-girls school and seniors only wear the uniform one day a week. I also have a bad history at this school, and they have threatened to kick me out a number of times. Now that i'm getting good grades, i don't want to blow it. I also feel that getting kicked out is no way to respect my parents who work hard to send me there.

Do you ever think why it was started. I don't know about anywhere else but in california, it is mainly because of misuse of power(cops), hatred, and racism. I've had my experiences growing up, but I will not state them here mainly because of CIA and FBI investigating websites. Now I try to live my life right and go to high school and am currently trying to get a degree. Everyday after school and work, I come to my room, do my homework, workout, pray and sit here and think or wonder.... I don't understand why they keep feeding hate into kids generation to generation... Things can be all good if we make the effort to do it. Last week my cousin from New York went down to L.A. for a funeral of a relative who was gunned down. He was in the hood and he did not gang bang and simply told them he did not bang and was not from anywhere when they asked him and they blew his brainz out. it ain't right but it's happening all the time. God I pray that all this will end one day....

What exactly does it mean to you? Because people say it means "ignorant black person," though some people take it in another way. Also, why do YOU feel black people don't appreciate it when "certain" people make use of the word.

By the way, I'm black myself, and I feel like no one should use the word. But, I'd rather just black people use it than any other race.

It seems as though a lot of people say it to be cool. I hear mexicans/hispanics say it more than black people at school sometimes, and it irritates me. Not to offend them, it's just, stop saying it.

basiclly the costume is a white dress with glued-on fake flowers, i have a belt also, with glued on fake flowers, a necklace with a red flower and a braclet with a red flower. all the flowers on me is red or pink. i cant come up with a name for it, help plz!?!?! i already asked this question, but its getting old and less and less people are answering, so any ideas?

I don't get it. Shouldn't God provide everything the church needs and thus money should be a non-issue. And if you subscribe to the notion that members should pay the 10% of their income is this revenue or net-income after taxes and expenses?

And if you lose money or are in debt, shouldn't they owe you money?

I know someone who was financially strapped, yet they kept paying the church when they didn't have any money and were on the verge of bankruptcy. They're out of the whole now, but things are still tight.

If they had held onto their money they would be much better off financially.
